FAQ or no FAQ, Worlds better be streamed!

By Rinzler in a Tie, in X-Wing

At what may be the near-height of their player base (we all expect a surge after Rogue One ), I'm desperately hoping that FFG has the appropriate plans/licenses in place to live-stream the whole event.

Is anyone on this forum privy to something that would put my mind at ease?

Worlds was streamed last year. What are you suggesting?

It was streamed last year, so I expect them to do so again this year.
I just hope they do it with better sound

I'm suggesting that FFG has relied on third-party "enthusiasts" (i.e. Team Covenant and/or Aaron Utley) to cover some sizable events - and in one recent event (a global Open Series, perhaps?), FFG had not secured the Mouse's blessing to stream video of the matches.

I'm also suggesting that streaming premier events is a good way to make me spend more money on this plastic crack.

Agreed. The audio, even after production, skips/is choppy. Makes me v sad.

Worlds has been streamed since at least 2012.

I take your point - but going back to the original question;

FAQ or no FAQ, Worlds better be streamed!

FFG streamed the Top Table at Worlds last year (and the year before that), and hopefully it will continue to be streamed.

The System Open issue was unfortunate, but a bit more intricate than just not getting the Mouse's permission (there's been a few threads discussing the details, so I won't go into it here).

As they're filming within their own premises, filming licenses won't be a problem.

Don't take my comments as a dismissal of your desire to have a Worlds Stream. I would love nothing more than for FFG to have a proper Twitch / Youtube Live channel for premier events - I'm really surprised they haven't jumped on this - and the more content the better.

At the end of the day, FFG's priority is to the people playing the game on site. Anything less is a disservice to the people on the tables. The very fact that we have a stream of any quality is nothing more than an added benefit.

A bunch of major tournaments including the SWC Coruscant Invitational haven't been streamed, and there are some concerns (though it's unclear whether they're founded) that Disney might have prevented streaming somehow for these events.

Personally I suspect it was just down to challenges in organising the streaming, and I'm hoping/expecting that Worlds will be streamed.

Since Worlds is their party and they did so far with great success, there is no reason to expect Worlds to not be streamed. I do hope they manage to upgrade the production quality again.

And yes, those streams and their VoDs definitly benefit the game. I fell in love with it after watching the amazing match that was 2013s XXBB vs. TIE swarm. It still pains me that Advanced Sensor B-Wings just don't cut it anymore in a world full of Palp-Aces and "I can outregen any 3-dice attack"-ships.

This is an anti-FAQ hit piece in disguise, isn't it! Reported! (j/k)

Stream or not, this FAQ needs to be printed in gold leaf, framed, and hung from the rafters. It's the real world champ.
