How do you all find this game satisfying when all of it is luck and no skill? You can fly the best and corner your opponent only to roll blanks and get rekt.
Why haven't you moved onto a better game?
Thoughts?

Luck is a very subjective thing. I agree a dice roll can go bad. But if a single dice roll loses you the game then you have done something really wrong.
The fact that you always see the same players in the top spots in tournaments shows that skill matters more than luck.
Edited by Rodent MastermindYou know how to modify dice?
This reduces the luck factor a lot.

He appears to have lost all pretense of subtlety in his time away.
Sigh, it's a personal fight against feeding trolls and letting a moronic statement slide by without response.
All games have luck in them. It's called RNG, be it monopoly to X Wing, except maybe diplomacy, that doesn't use dice.
As people have said

- mod die
- it's just a game, only people who need to win all the time have issue with the likes of RNG
Sad troll is sad.
All palp no luck.

**** now I need food... I think I've decided I'm just not going to sleep.. and try to get around to midnight, I need to reset my clock.. being nocturnal is not good.
You need to be good to set yourself up into positions where luck can favour you.
Ie position your ships to fire at one of theirs, repeatedly doing good moves swings luck in your favour.
Someone is a bad troll and hasn't heard of our lord and saviour the Conner Net, yet.

Let's just put it like this:
If you play badly and have bad luck, you will not win against a person that plays well and makes decent rolls.
If you play badly and make decent rolls, you still might lose against a person that plays well and has bad luck.
If you play badly and make decent rolls, you will lose against a person that plays well and makes decent rolls.
So playing well does by no means guarantee you a win, because X-Wing is still a game of chance. But the better you play, the more your chances of winning increase.
Also, builds play a huge part that wasn't factored in at all. Because many things in the game have a hard counter.

He must be the luckiest mother on the planet, I think managing to win 3 times in a row must place a larger percentage on skill then luck.
And yes obvious troll, I miss Ribbann he was a better class of troll, much more subtle.

Care to explain RNG? I don't remember doin algebra last time I played x-wing, nor having to to measure airborne particulate with a fosimeter. It seems there are lots of definition of what RNG means.

Random Number Generator is what you are looking for here. RNG has become synonymous with randomness in general in the gaming-sphere, because Random number generators is where video games take their randomness from. It kind of spread into the board game scene lately. It is technicaly a wrong use of the term, but it has started to gain footing and more and more people will know what is meant by it.
