Way to go FFG!

Future is bright so far

But many werent happy with TLT spam or rebel regen wave 7 and we're likely to revert to some of that now that scouts are changed

"Lesser EVIL"... Brah.

;)

depends on whom you ask

Was Biggs really nerfed?

nope

honestly, if people split their fire because of the FAQ gives some of their ships license to target other ships, i'd consider it a buff

This FAQ is a sad day because it means the return of TLT spam :(

I doubt it. There are way more autothruster things now. Imagine that you have 4TLT and you come up against Howard Aces. Auto-loss. I think things like that will keep them out

Yeah but TLT spam is pretty good against triple defenders. I was on the receiving end of it recently with Crackshot/X7 defenders. Wasn't even 4 TLTs.

I Know Right...

I think we're at a really good spot in the meta now -- one where everything has a counter. Rebel Regen will be back, but torpedoes/missiles are good enough now to take those guys down -- a Bossk Homing Missile Crack Shot Party Bus will do mean things to them. TLT spam will be back, but it'll be a nice way to reign in Defenders (plus there are counters to TLTs, like Authothrusters) -- and so on, and so forth.

Hey Fickle you still going to stick with Biggs as your arcs wingmate?

yup

Biggs wasn't anti-scout, he was anti-anythinginthegamecanfocusfire1agilitythatmovesatspeed2-3onaverage

Okay, so before R4-D6 was the automatic droid of choice for Biggs.

But I think that should be re-evaluated with no Torp Scouts for the huge alpha. Yes, there will still be big alphas, but not like before.

So, other droids that can make Biggs live a little longer:

R2-D2: Too expensive at 4 points.

R5-D8: Expensive AND lame.

R5-P9: 3 Points and you will probably need that focus token.

But what about:

R3 Astromech (2)

Once per round, when atacking with a primary weapon, you may cancel 1 of your (EYEBALL) results during the "Modify Attack Dice" step to assign 1 evade token to your ship.

It's only 1 point more and worth considering. Instead of taking a focus action take a Target Lock. The glaring downside to me is that this only helps you if there are ships with a lower PS than Biggs (5).

OR

R2-F2 (3)

Action: Increase your agility value by 1 until the end of this game round.

It is spendy, and I hate this droid.... BUT if Biggs is getting shot at by 4 TLTs in a single round isn't this good?

Why isn't anyone talking about sychs ;)

you're just trying to push my buttons, aren't you :P ?

still flying r4-d6, because torps aren't the only things that get 3+ hits through my green dice

You know, I see that post and just narrate every image with, "...and that's when Biggs exploded..."

Brobots will be out hunting again too. And that's another strong reason why R4-D6 is the best little buddy for your Biggs! They bleeding hate that little tincan...

Re: did his job

Was Biggs really nerfed? I understand the argument that you can now bypass him with secondary weapon restrictions but doesn’t that just help Biggs to last longer and annoy you late game when those ordinance have been spent? Any veteran X-wing player will tell you that when you see Biggs, you shouldn’t try and keep him out of arc to shoot at something else, you should instead bring every gun you have to bear on him quickly to drop him as fast as possible. You may think your cool when you get a shot that can bypass Biggs ability but for the most part, you need to drop Biggs so you can bring all your guns to bear on other targets consistently without Biggs floating in and out of shots.

This..

Biggs is now much more balanced and is like every other ship: a tool in your toolbox, not the toolbox that needs cracked.

I dont think so... Maybe it is better to take few steps back from Uboats and go for new things or back to older things, I am glad that I am able to use TLT y-wings again in my squads, never run more than two in my squad, but at the moment I am exploring Fangs with Ventress.. :)
