I'm 100% expecting a Bespin map. The question is, which one?

i expect a map with the bespin tiles as well...so that would be blaise, ISBs or bespin

Most maps, that were in the tournament rotation 'til now, were from figure packs. From a sales point of view, this absolutely makes sense. Therefore my bets are on Blaise or ISBs.

Because it would be rather stupid to have Training Grounds and ISB Training Grounds in the same Rotation (because they might get mixed up), my bets are on Blaise.

By the way, I like Blaise's map ...

A prophecy that misread could have been ... :D

Wow, never played this but it looks very different. This map could really spread you out. Long sight lines down the corridor, but lots of places to hide as well for melee characters. Color me intrigued.

NO SHOOTABLE DOORS!!!!!

NO SHOOTABLE DOORS!!!!!

Yeah now we just need to get rid of Warzone with it's unlocked shootable doors and I'll be happy.

I feel like they just changed the maps in June, how often does this occur? Twice a year? Is that usual?

A couple of the Bespin wave of maps have missions that can get really lopsided on points, reconnaissance feels like this could happen. If just one cam is placed at the end of the round, in a 3-4 round match (timed) does that mean you would never play that 5th cam? Once placed, do the cams stay put? So you could score twice at the end of round two and three times at the end orotund three? Are they cumulative or only the newly placed cam scores points?

The cams stay put I believe. And you only place one cam per round, so no you wouldn't place the fifth one. I'm not sure what would happen if it went six rounds and you had one of your cams destroyed (and therefore the token was free), if you would place one or not. But the VPs from your cams are not cumulative. You get a VP per enemy figure seen by one or several cams, so it matters how many figures you see in total. It's interesting how that is disadvantageous for trooper spam, but at the same time the map has so much space that more figures could really benefit you. I like the different tensions of this map a lot.

So after turn 2, there are 2 cams down

Cam 1 has LOS to 3 figures so 3 vp

Cam 2 has LOS to 1 figure so 1 vp

So 4 vp total for round 2 ?

As long as cam 2 has los to a different figure from the three that cam 1 sees, then yes. If they are looking at the same three figures, it would only be three VPs.

If two of one player's cams have line of sight to only one enemy figure--the same figure for each cam: the player that placed the cams gains ONE victory point.

If two of one player's cams have line of sight to only one enemy figure each--different figures for each cam: the player that placed the cams gains TWO victory points.

If one of a player's cams has line of sight on three enemies, and another has line of sight on two enemy figures, and one of those figures is seen by both cams: the player gains FOUR victory points.

This is the fourth time they've changed maps this year.

So how soon can we expect a new play mat? Not looking forward to lugging around puzzle pieces. Lol

you can probably buy it at worlds for cheap 30 USD

Who got the pixart file and dimensions ready?

I'm surprised they change so frequently, I'm also surprised that only one Hoth map has made it into rotation so far. It seems they would use that one a bit more since it was a bigger expansion.

They don't change frequently enough in my opinion.

The rotation changes every 3 months... but that only changes 1 map. which means each map stays in the rotation for 9 months.

Each rotation should change all 3 maps. There's so many to choose from, and with new releases coming out, even at this pace, we'd never run out of maps.

I like the Rotation the way it is. Buying 4 maps per year is enough.

Agreed with DerBaer, particularly if they're forcing us to use their maps at events.

I would be happy to buy pretty much whatever they put out, but for the new players I'm introducing to the game it's a much harder sell

They need to make starter sets where its the figures, tokens, dice and cards. Do three different lots one for each faction

Not all of the maps are balanced or good tournament maps IMO. I love the starter set idea, but that is way too forward-thinking. I don't know if there is a big enough demand for it either, although it would help jumpstart the skirmish community IF you could get maps easier. Currently the way the game is played, you gotta have a map and mission, you either buy their selected maps, build them from big core set or print them off (which is off-putting for a new player)

They already sell dice packs, I think cards, figures and a cardboard token sheet is enough to get someone going (really just cards and figures) but Campaign and Skirmish are going to continue to be married I believe.

To me it seems like they've run through way more maps than they should have at this point and skipped over some good ones, I guess they can always go back and pick them up again. I just started playing this spring, I thought that the Bantha and Allied Smuggler had just come out but someone mentioned that it came out before Hoth, I thought it was the other way around. If so, I guess they could go back and pick up maps from previous editions. I always thought Dengar's map would be a decent skirmish map.

When's the next big mouse pad gonna be up to order?

Are the mats similar to their X-wing starfield mats?

I do wish that they would already have the mats pre-made, so when they announce the new map, it is ready to order and ready to ship, they would get a better sell that way too. Building the maps isn't terrible, but you do feel like you're losing time by doing so.
