With the torp scout nerf, what will the meta be? Some archetypes that may be competitive:
- 4 TLTs
- Dash / Corran
- Rebel regen
- Return of the falcon?
- The dreaded Rytackle Special?
What do you think?

The meta is a complex ecology. With the Deadeye Torp Scout gone B-wings and the like are no longer heavily surpressed.
If TorpScouts truly do die off then that could also cull the population of PalpAces. PalpAces existed before Wave 8 but they only got out of control when all their predators were killed by TorpScouts. Now those predators can creep back.
Quad TLT I doubt will become a problem: it has severe weaknesses against most things and only really serves as a counterbalance to two ship lists.
Edited by Blue FiveWell, we don't all HAVE to take Biggs anymore.... thank the Maker!
Welcome your quad tie bomber overlords.
TorpBoats will still exist but now they're forced to interact with the target locking mechanics which gives a lot more ways to deal with them, pilot skill included.

Wait, the main ordnance-based list is going to consist of... bombers?
What madness is this? Why is it not tugboats or cruise liners?
Edited by Blue FiveLots, and lots of rebel regen again.
Meaning now i gotta focus more on being able to utterly obliterate something.
Upside is the new FAQ doesnt touch my lovely ryad + bomberbomber list. LRS > Deadeye baby!
Paul Heaver probably clearing a spot on his shelf right now. . . ![]()
Trip x7s and regen. Trip x7s and regen eeeeeverywhere.
Paul Heaver probably clearing a spot on his shelf right now. . .
As he goes back to Rebels.
Palp Aces still. It will almost certainly always be Palp Aces. Imperial Aces at the very, very least.
The Torp Boats will still exist, but will just look a little different.
-Dengaroo is hotter than ever
-x7s are annoying as ever
-4 tlts are hopefully here to make fat pwt life miserable once again
-arcs are definitely a thing
-Biggs will still biggs
Darn 4 TLTs, which will hurt all low agility ships. 8 auto damage a turn is just like an alpha strike with pin needles.
The Torp Boats will still exist, but will just look a little different.
Umm... no, they won't.
Unless by look a little different you mean, will look like a totally different ship. Because the Jumpmaster torp boat is dead.
New meta without torp u-boats. What is it going to be like?
Fun?
Lots, and lots of rebel regen again.

Wouldn't have touched that list even if it did have Deadeye: Deadeye's still legal on small ships.
Rebel Regen has had a lot more counters stealthily brought in under the guise of PalpAce counters. Lots of ways to directly damage hull now: Kylo Ren (Imperial) and BMST (Scum and Rebel) are the first that spring to mind.

The new TIE Bombers say hello.
Truth, but didnt affect my ordnance list anyway lol.
Besides bombers are vastly easier to remove than uboats. I rarely get all my ordnance off (1 missile 1 bomb + EM), but i get enough of them off to let Ryad devour the rest of my enemies.
Look that Dengaroo still exist.
******* glorious
This faq is nuts and i love it

I honestly don't know that it is. They're still goign to be punchy and survivable, they just don't get a first turn alpha against anythign they want any more.
I'd also predict seeing a bunch more bumpmasters, and they often come with a torp or two.
Edited by thespaceinvaderJumpmasters could take VI instead of deadeye now and still be deadly against most generics and low ps unique pilots.
I'm personally excited to see if a suped up Ghost can do something besides eating 6 torpedos and dying...
Other than that, I will feel less apprehensive about bringing out dash + Miranda. I'm happy that it seems like Scum is going to branch out a bit from just a handful of lists. At first it was brobots or GTFO, then U-Boats or Dengaroo. It feels like there is some breathing room for alternative scum lists now, whether it's protectorate fighters, shadow caster, or the fixed Scyk.

Or throw on trickshot for free
The TL restriction changes everything, though, and will require clever flying in order to leverage effectively
It is no longer just a question of move foward and focus
