Some pretty big changes in the FAQ, including reversing how Biggs works. A big buff to the Scyk, and a major nerf to Scouts.

Also clarified how obstacles work so no more questions there. Not sure I care for the change to how stress and red maneuvers works though.

Is the Scyk buff big enough do we think? I'm not sure.

Anything is a step in the right direction.

I like the Step 9 rewording on the timing chart, and the fact that we finally have a specific thing to point at that says "rolling and rerolling are not the same thing".

And non-maneuver obstacle effects!

So... the Kyle/Wingman 'clarification' doesn't so much "clarify" as it does "go completely against the cards". Kyle specifies that you are assigned a focus when you remove a stress from your ship, not just generically removing a stress. Wingman + Kyle should have no interaction whatsoever unless they are on two different ships.

Wait how does it reverse Biggs?

Wait how does it reverse Biggs?

Prior to this you had to target Biggs if able too. Even if that meant using a different weapon. If for example you wanted to shoot Wedge with a Proton Torpedo, and Biggs wasn't in your primary arc, but you had a turret weapon, you had to use the turret weapon on Biggs (assuming he's in range 1 of Wedge, ect...)

Now however if the weapon you pick can't target Biggs you don't have to change to a weapon that can.

The proton torpedo example works even if Biggs is in your arc, unless you have Deadeye.

Ooh. Yeah.

Unless you TL Biggs, you can choose to shoot someone else with a torp.

And big change to Stressed when revealing a red maneuver: your opponent does not pick a maneuver, you execute a white, straight 2.

Yep, No more flying people off the board. Unless they were too close to start with and the straight-2 is going to do the job for you. ;)

I wonder if there was an aha moment where they thought this makes more sense. Yes, penalty for choosing a red while stressed. But I think it was too much of a penalty. I thinks it is a fair change. I've never revealed a red while stressed amazingly considering how little I play. But if I was playing someone who did reveal a red while stressed I would think it fairer to just be a set maneuver. And I think every ship has a Green 2 forward, so it can't be abused.

Yes, penalty for choosing a red while stressed. But I think it was too much of a penalty.

I'm fairly sure that the point of this change is that there are now ways to give someone stress after they pick a maneuver which really hadn't been true before. I theory it could happen with bombs and a crit, but that's a lot less likely than being able to dump a debris field on someone.

I think this is still possible if you dialled a 2-troll. But i'm not sure.

Or on any ship that has red hard turns.

They flat-out state this in the article.

Not to mention a stressed ship with shaken pilot crit and Kanan crew can now program a red maneuver, be forced to go white straight 2, clear crit, clear stress. Its almost a nerf to shaken pilot.

Thanks. I'd been hearing about the improved Syck's but I'd missed this. Definitely exciting.
