New faq

By Shenannigan, in X-Wing

New wingman interaction is funny.

Slap Wingman on your ship of choice that can have crew, put Kyle in there. Have random ship nearby with PTL, keep him within range1, clear stress and give a focus to the ship with kyle.

Rofl...thats almost double PTL with no stress whatsoever (barring slicers before combat phase if any)

I don't think nerfing Deadeye to small ship only is a good idea. There's plenty of good counters to uboats

Ok, so no xwing 2.0 for the next decade, now that they can effectively fix things. Hey FFG, what about e wing prices ?!

ohhhhh yyes

"Heavy Scyk" Interceptor The text on this card should be followed by the phrase: “Increase your hull value by 1."7

Backdraw is that we won't get alternate paint job Scyks in Scum Aces or with a Scum Epic ship.

Maybe this is a hint that no Scum Epic anytime soon, as concentrating on Rogue One stuff ???

The only possible reason to nerf Biggs is that we have an X-Wing fix incoming... right?

This is great about Deadeye and the Syck.

I don't understand the Biggs thing though, what do they mean?

Theres counters but uboats by themselves ****** up the meta by restricting playable squads to these counters only (in competitive play).

This is pretty huge.

The Scyk fix probably means the Kihraxz and the Star Viper in Scum Aces.

Welcome to the age of Mindlink Scycks I guess.

more like "everybody is using biggs. Literally everybody. Stop that"

This is great about Deadeye and the Syck.

Previously if you had a weapon that could hit biggs at all, i.e. turrets, you HAD to use it if the one you chose originally couldnt hit him, such as hes out of arc so you had to use your turret or hes at range3 so you couldnt use cluster missiles, you HAD to use primary weapons.

....also DANG IT FFG now i gotta print another FAQ out. This is a big one, so i HAVE to have it. No idea how many arguments i have shut up with a printed faq lying around. Especially with deadeye going byebye on large ships, reverse biggs, and scyk +1hull i need that faq lying around.

Used to be that if you could target Biggs you had to. So let's say you could only target him with a Torpedo but could target some other ship with your primary, you had to use the torpedo on Biggs. But now you don't have to, you pick your weapon first then check to see if you can target Biggs with it or not. If you can't you don't have to shoot him.

This is interesting:

Open, Derived, and Hidden Information

• Open information is any information about the game, game state, or ships that is available to all players. This includes faceup damage cards, any relevant tokens, rules concerning a particular bomb or other munition, discarded upgrade cards, and any other information continuously available to all players. All players are entitled access to open information and cannot hide open information from an opponent or omit specific details. A player must allow his or her opponent to discover the information themselves if they attempt to do so.

• Derived information is any information about the game, game state, or ships all players have had the opportunity to learn through card/game effects or through the process of deduction using open information. This includes a player’s current score, how many Direct Hit damage cards might remain in a damage deck, which ship a dial belongs to, etc. Derived information may be marked with the use of a token or other indicator so that players remember the information. A player cannot misrepresent derived information or hide the open information necessary to discover derived information. If derived information is dependent on a player’s previous decision or action, he or she must answer truthfully when asked about that decision or action. For example, Steph chooses to use Corran Horn’s ability during the End phase. During the following Planning phase, Bryan forgets whether Corran Horn used his ability or not and asks Steph. Steph must answer honestly that Corran Horn did use his ability the previous turn.

• Hidden information is any information about the game, game state, or ships unavailable to one or more players. This includes facedown damage cards, facedown maneuver dials, cards within the damage deck, etc. A player cannot learn hidden information without the aid of a game effect, rule, or another player verbally communicating the information. However, if a player that has access to hidden information about the game or a card and chooses to verbally share it with his or her opponent, that player is not required to tell the truth.

Collision Detector DOES give stress from debris clouds with boosting, barrel rolling, or decloaking over them.

"After a ship’s base or maneuver template overlaps an obstacle, and the overlap is not from executing a maneuver, it suffers an effect based on the type of obstacle:

Can someone link where this FAQ is coming from?

ok so what does this mean for people with old versions of the cards? are we to just remember? do we get new copies? this seems like a potential mess.

So FFG has decided that they won't be changing the prices on cards, but they're willing to go in and alter card text.

This is a bold step that I wholeheartedly approve of. It will allow them to re-balance the game in much needed ways on the fly.

Next up, integrated astromech will add barrel roll to the action bar of T-65 X-Wings and Vectored Thrusters will say "Small Ship and Firespray Only Modification".

Let's #$%ing do this!

Little tears of joy for my Scyky friends.

I'm competing in my first regional this December and I'm really excited to see this happen. Getting shot down over time by Palp Aces is one thing, but blown off the mat in the second round doesn't sound like much fun.

Decloaking hasn't matched the card for ages now and people manage.

When I saw the first post I thought it was a troll...

then I went to the page,

Holy cow!

As of now, if Biggs and Wedge are at Range 1 of each other and both at Range 2 in arc of you but you have a Target Lock on Wedge and Cluster Missiles, you can go ahead and shoot the Cluster Missiles at Wedge. Before, you would have had to shoot Biggs with your primary.

holy crap i didnt even notice that.

The weapon you chose cant hit biggs because of the targetlock requirement.

Dude, ordnance is now the hard counter to biggs.

edit: Correction: non-focus or deadeye ordnance, as they can charge targets on the fly.

For example; lets say you have a jumpmaster with a torpedo;

If you have someone else in arc for a torpedo, but you can shoot biggs out of arc with your turret.

Used to be you had to shoot biggs. But now you're able to use your secondary.

That's how i read it anyway. I'm open to corrections.
