Backdraft, Howlrunner and four pilots learning the job

Backdraft (27)

4 TIE Academy

Total 100 pts

The idea is quite simple, fly a miniswarm and fight at close quarter range. Roll a lot of dices and pray to obtain good green results.

Howlrunner has a tendancy to go ka-explode in the first shooting phase. Push The Limit helps (because focus/evade) but that then stops her Koiogran Turning.

Crack Shot is tempting....but you've only got academy pilots as wingmen, not named TIEs or Black Squadron - which means she's got to survive everything in your opponent's squad in order to be there long enough to provide rerolls to hit.

Push The Limit is probably the better call.

Backdraft, if nothing else, could do with Adaptability. PS8 is nothing to sneeze at, as that puts you on par with a lot of popular pilots (like The Inquisitor).

Alternatively, you could pack Youngster with Rage. since Rage is triggered as an action, it doesn't matter if Youngster takes a bat to the face at PS9; anyone angry is staying angry for the turn.

As a side bonus, Youngster's ability to hand out Rage also benefits Backdraft (a TIE/fo Fighter is still a TIE Fighter as far as TIE Fighter Only rules are concerned). Which might change Backdraft's preferred options a bit.

I think its okay, but ultimately too many academy pilots. You really only need two PS 1 ships. However, you'd have to free up 6 points to turn two of them into Black Squad pilots w/ crack shot. You can't get those points without losing Backdraft, unfortunately. If its just for casual games, then I wouldn't worry about it. This list is good enough, but if you were to take it to a tourney, a pair of crack shots will go a long way...

Mmm...thats a good point. I have never seen Rage in action. I have very little practice with wave 8 and 9 stuff. But I love Dengar
