Sabine's Tie fighter article now up

While offensive to me as an Imperial, Captured TIE is a really cool, fluffy card.

"I'm pretending to be a TIE Pilot, and it'll fool the grunts, but anyone higher rank than me will know I'm not the real deal."

All very interesting stuff, but I can't be the only one who really did not expect or want this preview? We've had Wave 9 for about five minutes, we don't have Heroes of the Resistance at all yet, but we're already steamrolling ahead to talk about Wave 10 that we'll apparently have before the end of the year?

I really would like the releases to slow down so we actually have time to use and experiment with what we only just got.

Rex + Gunner popped straight into my head for 2-Crew ships. Not bad.

On the U-Wing, you can Rex, Gunner, FCS.

You can also Luke + FCS for the same cost and with a spare crew slot for at least Chopper or something better if you have points.

Focus + Gunner > Luke crew.

Luke only mods 1 focus, with 3-5 dice its highly likely you get more than 1 focus to mod. Also, if you didnt need it, luke is wasted while the focus can be used defensively.

Eh, I guess you are right. Still, crew slots are valuable, especially with all the new cerw cards coming with Rogue One and HotR.

We will see if it gets more play than Luke, although it's not that hard to achieve :P

Ahsoka just has to play it cool, fly in formation, and hope nobody notices the counterproductive paint job that dumb Mandalorian girl put on it.

Yes but cost > another crew slot.

Taking luke to free up the other crew slot and lose the focus token for 1 focus mod also adds on the price of whatever other crew you took. Which in general is 2pts, though rebels have a few good 1pts too.

Doesnt sound like much, but almost every time i list build if i go over i go over by 1 or 2 pts :P

edit: Also, Asohka would want to stay the hell away from Jax.

Jax prevents ALL focus token spending. She cannot spend a focus to get her ability off.

Was literally just about to say this. :)

Well, Slicing is Star Wars' goofy name for hacking. It's not like Jax can tell where the hack is coming from.

Ahsoka just has to play it cool, fly in formation, and hope nobody cares about the awesome paint job that badass Mandalorian girl put on it.

I guess I'm going to have to get used to it but I'm not a big fan of the "assign a condition card" mechanic. I realize it isn't really any different than assigning ion or stress tokens but it still feels off.

I have to say I'm not fond of it either. It opens the door to just about any type of ability or hand waving

Asohka....why? Why keep giving a supporty ability on a nonsupport ship?

Umm.....she is a great support ship. She can't be attacked by anyone with a PS less than hers. She can take a crew. She can spend a Focus to give someone else an action. That's an awesome support ship.

She is a great support ship and the perfect spy/phantom. You cannot attack her until the end of the game. And this with her high PS you better have a good ship left yourself.

And you can even say there's fluff behind that too.

"I've got a bandit on my tail, requesting assistance!"

I think this is a great expansion! It seems fun, with a large number of variations you can play to (Stealth/Support Ahsoka, Arc-Dodge Ahsoka, Arc Dodge Sabine, Captain Rex) all playable, and easy to fit into many squads. All the while their is nothing earth breaking in here that will require everybody to go buy new ships to counter it. I'm really excited for this.

Fluffy, except for the fact that it also works on Scum and Rebels, inexplicably. I mean, mechanically I understand why, but the fluff doesn't explain that.

and so we must turn to the golden rule of gaming

The fluff doesn't exactly explain why the Rebels are fighting other Rebels in the first place either :P

Ahsoka with Rey and Captured tie and VI would be awesome. She just floats around building focus tokens and distributing them when needed and can't be attacked until the end of the game. And, even then, she can give those actions to herself! She'll be a two action ship with no stress.

Issue with Rey crew is she also cant stack more than one at a time. Even if you move as slowly as possible thats what 2 focus stashed with a 3rd you just actioned up by the time the fighting begins? and once it begins you might stash 1 more throughout the game.

Though there is the benefit of saving someone from hitting a rock, or herself for that matter. Assuming the template doesnt touch the rock you can legally get a free action to boost/barrelroll OFF the rock and still get your attack. Or if you have collision detectors than you just dun giva f***. If she bumped or hit a debris she still can pass on focus to other people, so i guess its a bit of a trade-off for less economy for more security.

Ashoka could maybe work with Recon Spec, or Rey...but that is more points on an almost regular TIE.

Has anyone figured out if Rex's condition can be put on multiple ships at once?As in if they dont fire at Rex to clear it, an he targets multiple different enemies over different turns. Or did I miss something where the condition only lasts for 1 turn?

Unique conditions can only be applied to one ship at a time.

"At the end of the combat phase, if "Captain Rex" did not perform am attack this phase, remove this card."

That EMP device is sick!

Why only one of these cards? I'd love to get 2-3 for an illicit list, but what would you do with multiple Sabine ties? Especially if you already have 7-8 imperial tie fighters from other sets.
