So I went ahead and dived in head first and got a bunch of Armada stuff even though I've only played a dozen 200-300 point, single-mat, beginner games at home with my cousin. I'd like to start playing out in the community but haven't the faintest clue where to begin list-wise. Are there any "standard" beginner-friendly lists? Minimal triggers, low ceiling, high floor, that kind of thing.

- Rebel Squadrons x2

- Rogues & Villains

- Gladitor

- ISD

- Raider x2

- Gozanti

- Imperial Squadrons x1

My initial that was to just build a Rebel swarm - keep it real simple with upgrades and try to get an activation advantage but I haven't played with any objectives yet so I'm not sure how to utilize those to my advantage.

VSD's are affordable too, and they are relatively easy to work with.

I'd advise building a list with ships you like the look of and keeping upgrades to a minimum. One or two max per ship. Just pick stuff that you would like to try and think you'll remember to use.

From there just scale slowly up as you feel comfortable. If you're playing friendly games which allow proxies for cards you don't have then just substitute in cards using a fleet builder app (print them out).

All ships can be viable and they all have strengths and weaknesses so just jump in and see how you like them.
