The Super Star Destroyer

I suppose it is subjective but I don't mind the corvette's size discrepancy. That's a visibility thing along with being decent compared to fighters.

I'm inclined to think if you're going to do the SSD, you have to do it almost to scale. That's partly why yes I like the idea, and hope those who want it get their wishes fulfilled, i'm ultimately against the SSD in game.

I have 3 feet for my desk....as long as it fits.

Who says FFG won't reinforce the model with crosslinking bars? Having them make a solid model isn't a big deal. And I doubt you will get a model more than three times the length of the ISD because that model and package would be so freaking big. Look at the AT-AT mini from WotC. It's 15x5x18 inches, and it cost $100.

I wasn't talking about the stability. I said it would look flimsy. An SSD has other proportions than an ISD.

Look: On top is the correct scale of an ISD to an SSD.

On the Bottom I have scaled the SSD to 2x and 3x the length of the ISD. And there is the Problem: The engines, the bridge tower, the thickness; all of this breaks the suspension of a nearly fitting scale.

And? I'll go back to saying the corvette does not fit into the hanger bay of the ISD. From your point of view, the bridge on the CR90 is way to big, and yet it is still in the game. None of the ships we have correlate to one another. The MC80 pickle is suppsoed to be 3/4 the size of an ISD. This is not X-Wing where the epic game is the same scale as the normal one.

No, from my point of view something that is bigger should be bigger even at a sliding scale. The CR90s engines and bridge are still smaller than the ISDs. But if the Engines of a SSD are smaller than the ones of an ISD it looks wrong.

Check out my own post on this (link below). I did my own SSD Armada project with this size/scale question in mind. It started out being merely a test print out to see what it would look like, then I got to playing around with cardboard and next thing you know, I went and built the whole thing! It just took on a life of it's own. Anyway, I think it looks awesome, as long at you slightly manipulate the dimensions to be about 10 to 15% wider than normal, and mount it higher then the rest of the Armada ships. The increased height creates the illusion of greater size. Yes it is still smaller than what the SSD should be, but I think it scales nicely as a compromise and still delivers something you can play with on the table. Haven't gotten a chance to play it yet, but looking forward to it.

Nah, just retcon the retcon to return the SSD to its 5x-an-ISD length. Then we can have an Epic-sized SSD in Armada.

That would be BS...

Even in the movies you can see a SSD is ~10x ISD length.

Armada uses a sliding scale. The CR90 should fit inside the hanger of the ISD but it doesn't.
Even then it had to be 2,5x the size of the X-Wing CR90 modell or it would look to flimsy. Remember the SSD ist pretty thin compared to its length.
I've put my x wing raider on the table for comparison, and I think an Armada SSD that size would be fine.

Could you post a picture of them for comparison? If you could. I don’t have a X wing raider of my own.

Pretty please :)

You guys literally realize this is the *exact* same discussion that has lived and persisted in the other SSD thread, right? Right??

And it is the same argument, the ones who do not think we should have it. They keep saying things like, that it will not look right unless it is to scale, and/or nerfed to point that it is unplayable. They also say that it would be to expensive, and the rebels do not have a counter to it. On the other side they keep saying that their is a floating scale and point out the CR90 Star destroyer as counter point. I am on the side of that we will get it someday, but can also see that neither side has actually made any points that even come close to proving yes or no. Right now it all comes down to opinion.
