We will show them the full power...(demo help)

Hello, my fellow spacers. So there's a local Con that's kicking off in about 12 hours and they were down a game in the game room so I volunteered IA for the slot last minute. My only issue now is how do I demo this game to its full enjoyment? Since most people play campaign I would assume that'd be the best way to go but for pick up games it just seems hard to get enough interested players at the same time that will spend over an hour at the table. I'm tempted just to play some skirmish missions but it really doesn't showcase the game properly. What do you guys and gals think? Thanks in advance!

I'd do what FFG did demo Drawn in as though it were the first mission (threat level 2 and no upgrades).

I've use the first mission of the core campaign as a demo at stores with me as Imperial. It's less than an hour to explain and play if it's set up so makes a good demo. If you're looking for a longer mission to fill time then the first Hoth mission is also fairly simple but takes longer, and can can also have a 5th player running the Echo Base Troopers.

Yup drawn in is a great suggestion also the first mission from twin shadows Hunted Down has worked great for me in the past. You have Storm Troopers, Han Solo and Boba Fett in the Mos Eisley Cantina.. pretty hard to beat that thematically. It is also a fairly straight forward and relatively easy mission for the Rebels (assuming you let off the gas which you should in a demo always), but at the same time it still explores lots of gameplay mechanics.

It also isn't a bad idea to have a short listed skirmish demo, like 20 point lists, a named like Vader with some Storm Troopers, or Bossk with some Trandoshans on a smaller map. Remember, this is two games in one. Helps sell them on the high price point.

I like Hunted Down as an intro mission for a regular gaming group (for all the reasons you listed), and if they like it, the group can continue the mini-campaign.

But I gotta agree with Drawn In for demoing purposes. The initial deployment is just so cool and you can pull an FFG and save the RGC deployment until the end when people have to leave to get them hooked :P

Drawn In with starter characters is pretty much an auto-loss. I'd think new players would find it super frustrating that nothing they could do could give them a win. At a minimum you're going to have to intentionally play badly as the Imperials and spread your fire out etc.

I've actually been running Drawn In all day. It really is perfect for the needs of a demo game. Also as long as you start at at least Heroic or Legendary it's a lot easier than I thought it might be for drop in/drop out play. And yes I did consider the intro Hoth mission but like you said it is long! It took my normal group forever to finish it.
