Is this a viable variation in today meta thanks.

39 - IG88‑B + Push The Limit + Advanced Sensors + Autothrusters + Mangler Cannon + IG‑2000 + Glitterstim;

IG88‑C + Heavy Laser Cannon + Fire‑Control System + Autothrusters + IG‑2000 + Crack Shot + Glitterstim;

this good

If you know how to fly it, I think so, mostly.....

I'm considering bring that C composition twice (B-D) but swapping crackshot for fearlessness. So you can get a locked attack (r2-3), or a single fearlessness attack (r-1).

I haven't try it yet, so is just speculation.

Anyway yes, your list can work

so its viable

I don't think so. Glitterstim is not a good idea on IG88. They abhor stress and self-stressing tends to kill your positional game (and therefore you end up getting out-positioned).

I would drop that for either feedback array or Black Market Slicer tools.

PTL + advanced sensors is really good on IG88C, but not quite as good on IG88B (not bad though, especially since you don't want your droids to die, and F+E is the best way to achieve this).

Swap the systems. If one dies, you've got the wrong system for the use. C wants Advance Sensors, and B wants Fire Control. PTL definitely goes with AS on C, so you can boost + PTL Focus before revealing a green to clear the stress.

I don't think that the crackshot throwaway is a good EPT on a ship that's going to get to take a second shot with a TL when it misses the first, but what do I know.

I consider glitterstim a must have on both IGs. Is the only thing that can save you if bump, get surrounded by 2+ shots, getting double taps, and can even help a bit vs zuckuss.

Once I tried, I cannot play without. To me is a most have equip :-/

I will give b fire control hlc and crackshot

And give c ptl advanced sensors and mangler cannon

I just fought against a whisper omega and palp shuttle 45 miniatures later the carnage was over ig 88b would finish them off while c would strip there tokens and deal some damage the list seemed pretty strong

I think this is a fallacy. Glitterstim doesn't actually save you on a bump----yes, it will likely save you on THAT turn, but then your IG is very likely to get killed soon after, since quite often, you are forced to try to clear stress and flee. If you are unable to flee, or if doing so puts you in a really bad position, you end up sacrificing the IG anyway, and it is unable to contribute any damage in the meantime. This is why the stress from glitterstim is such a two-edged sword. Because keeping your ship alive for another turn or two but in a bad position quite often is not actually helping.

With advanced sensors + PTL, however, you are not stressed after getting blocked, but still have your Focus + Evade, so while it may not quite equal glitter in terms of damage mitigation on that turn, you have your full dial available to move into the best possible position. Thus, you maintain good positioning throughout the match (unless you screw up), and so are more likely to escape if you need to or turn around and continue firing if you need to.

So glitterstim or ?

Also brobots are a lot better in the new faq whith a lot of stuff being debuffed

Well, in that turn I'm going to shoot with 2 IGs, and FCS still works when stressed.

In that turn I still alive, and bring out enough damage to keep the victory into my side. The thing is fly well and pop Glitterstim when you really need it. Otherwise, it happen what you have describe

So gliterstim it is;)

Glitterstim is GREAT on IG-88. With 3 defense dice they get the most mileage out of it and taking a stress is far better than dying from an alpha strike.

Black Market Slicer Tools is a nice new alternative, and if you take them instead of the stims you can fit in a bomb on one of them, or Tractor Beams on both.

Feedback Array I'd be hesitant about. It might be nice to have in dire situations, but I really don't like damaging myself on these guys.

I disagree. Glitterstim is that button James Bond presses on his Aston Martin when he finds himself really in a pickle. It may send the car off course for a bit and will probably anger the heck out of Q, but more often than not Bond won't care because his suit is still intact.

So what illicit

I fly Brobots exclusively for competitive play, and while my list is a VI list, and not the most popular in the meta (i have no idea why TBH =P) i dont feel this list you have posted is the strongest option, especially with the outlook post FAQ.

Variations of Palp aces is going to be your biggest concern. HLC and FCS is almost a must, and you want it on both bots. Another concern, at least in my local meta, is the dual vcx vcx/dash combos. Those lists you have to beat by throwing red dice. period. VI also helps on the initiative bid against ships like dash. Basically your worried about ships that can shrug off your attacks through green dice or hull. HLC and FCS on both bots is the best counter to these lists.

Illicit is probably best served with BMST, although dampeners are useful as well.

Personally i have never been a huge fan of PTL on bots, as they dont like stress.

Here is my list, which i personally feel is the strongest bots list available right now. A lot of other bots players will disagree.

If VCX and Imperial Aces are the most wanted enemies, why VI? VCX is under 6, where Imp Aces are all 9 (or 8 with the Inquisitor, but you haven't initiative bid). Why not the common crackshot?

against VCX/Dash your pushing it to 8ps against dash. You want to focus down dash.

People like to focus on the PS9+ aces they will face, but often forget there are a large amount of PS8 aces out there. They also forget pushing it to 8 pushes you past those PS7 ships. Bots are all about position and arc. Bots need to be focusing down an enemy every round. When bots lose, its when they fail to do so. Ill take the 98 pt initiative bid and VI for competitive play for this reason. ps7 ships can give ps6 bots trouble at times.

Im really uncertain as to why this list has fallen out of favor, as it is/was a very strong list. Like i said, IMO the strongest in todays meta. BMST really gets it cooking again.

I just think because Crackshot gives you a major opportunity to do some dmg, and use 1 bot as a blocker when the second focus who bumps (vs ps7+). But they still 2 valuable playstyles to me

So how should I run them

?

I've been running Glitter, crack, fcs, hlc on B&C pretty much all tournament season leading up to Worlds. It's a great take all comers list if you know how to fly it.

I've won 3 SCs and 1 Regional with it and went 6-2 at Worlds.

I think i know the answer to this but, do you run autothrusters on them? lol that puts this list at 100 points and makes more sense IMO. i have never even been to a regional tourney so im just trying to learn!
