Pictures of the last unspoiled cards from HotR at SPIEL 16 in Essen, Germany

By Farlander, in X-Wing

I was just hoping for a little something else with the Contracted Scout pricing the way it is (a la Vineheart's Sensor post) but am in no way disappointed.

I am actually quite giddy that I get to add another YT to the collection and the other stuff in the box isn't too shabby either. It looks like some great stuff coming with this pack, I can't wait!

Trickshot is the counter to the 'keep Biggs alive' lists that run Tactical Jammers to give him an extra green. Clearly, this has become an issue that needed fixing. Can't have any X-Wings in the meta.... Grumble, mutter, curse.

*Warning: The above comment does not actually reflect my present attitude. Do not attempt arguing with me as I will not defend this position.

Trickshot dash seems fun unless there's further restriction on the card outside of 'obstructed attack +1 die'

More like it counters anyone who bought shadowcasters :P

i'd wager trickshot is better than dash crew.

Both sides add +1 die, but 1 red > 1 green majority of the time. Theres more faces that result in a hit than an evade

Now I change my list again!

Kanan Jarrus (59) VCX-100 (38), Accuracy Corrector (3), Autoblaster Turret (2), Extra Munitions (2), Plasma Torpedoes (3), Recon Specialist (3), SMOKIN' HOT CO-PILOT (4), Engine Upgrade (4)

Norra Wexley (41) ARC-170 (29), R2-D2 (4), Push the Limit (3), C-3PO (3), Alliance Overhaul (0), Vectored Thrusters (2)

Well, between this and sensor cluster r2 poe looks better all the time

You certainly meant Pattern Analyzer, correct? Because there is no tech upgrade you should put on Poe other than that. It's so good on him it's painful.

On r5p9 poe maybe. Who loses his focus if he gets shot with hotshot copilot and now he doesnt get to regen. R2d2 poe, who gets to regen anyway, can be quite happy with sensor cluster

I like the Co-Pilot as anti-Gunner tech. It's not uncommon for a Gunner ship to get a bad roll, like two blanks and an eyeball, and just keep it as a kids while hoping for a better result on the second shot. Now, they have to spend the token on the first shot.

Edit: before people get too excited for him on Kanan, remember that it also forces Kanan to spend his own Focus tokens while attacking.

I'm not sure you've read that correctly.

EDIT: Just confirmed, it only ever causes your opponent to spend, either when attacking you or being attacked by you. Still awesome on Kanan... and absolutely killer against him.

I meant, if Kanan is attacking a copiloted ship, he can't save the tokens for defense.

Edit: gah, broke formatting and can't fix.

Kanan builds rarely only have 1 focus on him. You cant spend more than 1 focus for the same effect, so getting hit by a copilot would make him burn 2 focus instead of 1 (1 for ability, 1 for actual focus effect). Does somewhat counter him, but i dont see multiple ships having Copilot anyway to totally strip him.

So having co-pilot doesn't make you spend YOUR own focus token, it makes the other guy spend HIS.

And if a Torp Scout has Overclocked R4 he can just take a stress to recover that token.

Did I get that right?

Also, can the Torp Scout use R4 Agromech to get a Target Lock if you force him to spend his Focus token?

Cheap Tie shuttles with co-pilots flying around stripping focus sounds almost scummy :)

Especially with a rebel captive.

R4 Aggromech would indeed trigger, but nobody takes it anymore since it doesnt work with deadeye now.

Whisper with Copilot and Sensor Jammer sounds pretty sexy...

why would you want copilot and sensor jammer?

its not a remove the focus, they are forced to spend it. jammer is literally wasted unless they didnt have a focus to begin with, in which case copilot is pointless.

Can anyone recognize the cockpit on co pilot? Possible future ship spoiler?

I think the assumption is that Whisper is shooting 1st which spends the token and so guaranteeing the effectively free evade from sensor jammer... since otherwise Whisper is dead without the ACD cloak anyways...

Yes... and no. If they're low PS there's a good chance the enemy will already have used his focus token or their attack will be the last. Either way it means the co-pilot does nothing and he's 4 points of dead weight. On the other hand if you put co-pilot on something with high PS you will end up with a ship that might simply be too expensive for what it does.

Yeah. Good on whisper...although maybe not if whisper is the only ship left.

I like that she can get them to use the token super early on a defensive roll. ...but that's hurting her own offense....still...4-5 dice...so I....

Actually yes...good on whisper with jammer. Good enough to lose FCS?...

Going to find out I think.

Wait is that a falcon ORS or should I say a non-unique modified YT-1300?

14702232_10157442146285417_6313373135646

also translation please.

Was actually hoping the generic falcon would have the poorer stats, there's only one falcon, the generic is a bog standard old freighter and should have worse stats but got a huge price reduction

There is nothing unique about a modified YT-1300. I think they started modifying them before they left the dealership. :P

Rey crew:

At the start of the End phase, you may place 1 of your ship's focus tokens on this card. At the start of the Combat phase, you may assign 1 of those tokens to your ship.

So as I am reading this, tokens on the Rey card are basically out of play, and thus can't be countered by the cards under discussion.

Which isn't a counter, but it's an interesting thing to think about.

Correct.

But if you put them *into* play, then Copilot forces you to spend them at the appropriate junctures.

And if you *don't* put them into play, then... Copilot has stopped you EVER spending them.
