PUT JABA IN THE DAM-GAME... ALREADY!

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

Cost 8, takes two crew slots and a modification slot. When you bump another ship or obstacle it is destroyed. You may not perform speed 3, 4, or 5 maneuvers.

Any Jabba card has to compliment Jabba on his prodigious girth!

He's just flesh and blood. I don't know if you were trying to be funny, but he wouldn't slow down a ship just because he's as heavy as an under weight hippopotamus.

Height: 3.9 meters

Mass: 1,358 kilograms (2,994 lbs.)

Also, destroying another ship just from ramming it is worth more than 8 points. The ship itself wouldn't change that much any how. It might actually weigh less if they had to take things out made of heavier materials to make room.

Jabba the Hutt

12 points

Modification

If this ship does not have at least 3 crew slots, this ship loses all upgrade slots, otherwise it loses all crew slots. Once per turn, you may modify one of your opponent's dice. That dice cannot be modified again.

Hostile Takeover

EPT - 6 points

Jabba strikes! When you perform an attack that hits, before dealing damage, you may cancel 1 of your critical results. If you do, remove an upgrade from that ship. You may equip it on any ship at the end of the attack phase, subject to normal upgrade slot rules. (both yours and opponents, what the heck)

This is true. When I imagine high stakes space combat, I automatically think of rapacious slug monsters.

Yeah, I was being a dork. I think any Jabba crew would probably be just be a cheaper, scummy version of Palpatine. I think the purpose of this thread was that the thread would be kind of a joke, since Joe Boss' original post was an awesome picture of a Jabba cupcake!

I think a good (real) idea would be something similar to spacelion's idea:

Jabba the Hutt

Once per round, you may change one of your

opponent's die results to any other die result.

That result may not be modified.

Cost 5 (2 crew slots)

What are your ideas man, or are you just satisfied with a cool pic.

This plus all Illicit Upgrades cost 1 less point to a minimum of 1 point. Also Jaba's Command Vessel gets a title that allows all friendly ships at range 1 to 2 to change 1 blank result to a focus result when attacking and defending.

I was looking over your ideas again, which I like because being under Jabba's organization should have perks,

but if Jabba took a point off of each illicit upgrade then I could make a 107 point build for 100 points.

Total: 107 - View in Yet Another Squad Builder

Not any worse than getting one for 6 points with the Hound's Tooth title, but I had to check.

As for the second part, it would be fair as an escort bonus if all ships affected had the title also.

I may create these cards.

what about obi-wan and joda ..... we want them as wall as the slug

The escort thing is funny because every pilot wants to impress THE Hutt...Kinda like how Storm Troopers are when Vader is around.

:P

How much should a three-crew slot Jabba cost if he made ALL friendly illicits free AND kept all illicits from being discarded?

Would all Z-95s fly with Hot Shots?

Well, here is the problem... Jabba doesn't flew on anything, not even as a crew from any ship. While Ackbar is only for capital ships like the Mon Calamari Cruiser. Master Yoda could be used as a crew, Obi-Wan Kenobi too, but I can't see Ackbar fitting here, neither Jabba.

Emperor Palpatine isn't anybody's ensign/steward either, but they made a crew card for him.

"The Star Jewel was the personal space yacht of Jabba Desilijic Tiure ."

"The space cruiser's interior was dominated by Jabba's throne room which featured a giant single piece transparisteel observation dome. It was where Jabba and his entourage resided when onboard. His personal quarters were located at the aft of the throne room and featured two smaller observation domes. The starship also featured a kitchen, an armory, and several guest quarters equipped with hidden spying devices for the Hutt to keep an eye on his guests.

The space cruiser was staffed by a crew of droids and also featured a small landing bay that held two small landing shuttles and also stationed the Star Jewel Guard , a complement of six Z-95 Headhunter fighters that served as escort to the Star Jewel. Jabba the Hutt also kept several Kell dragons onboard his starship and would feed prisoners to them for entertainment. Kyle Katarn was one of the only victims to survive a battle with a Kell dragon, and upon retrieving his weapons and escaping the dragon den he proceeded to exterminate Jabba's entire complement of the beasts.

Jabba's space cruiser featured 2 rear vanes which served as ailerons for atmospheric flight and 3 retractable rods on each side of the ship which provided a place for the maneuvering jets, allowing the cruiser to reach atmospheric speeds of up to 800 kph. The space cruiser's armament included six illegal hidden CEC turbolasers mounted beneath the superstructure's ridge which were powered by the vessel's reactor core."

The simple reason you see the Emperor Palpatine on X-Wing Miniatures is only because we saw him being transported in a Lambda Shuttle. I don't know the reason he comes in the Imperial Raider btw.

As for the Star Jewel, which I never heard before, it would have to be an Epic Ship, slightyly bigger than a CR-90 Corvette. I have no idea if this will ever be in the game someday, but I think this Epic Ship should be from the Black Sun and any leader of that group instead of Jabba.

no need to thank me

I'm going to need people to stop proposing that the Jabba crew take 2 crew slots.

Yes, it would be thematically more flavorful, but like, why would you want him to say "YV-666 Only" in standard play?

To represent that he's a big beefer, make him read " Large and Huge Ship Only ", or something, so that you can't fly him around in a HWK. If he takes more than one crew slot, you've excluded him from like 93% of Scum Ships...which sounds just terrible from a game play perspective.

As a community, I'm going to need you all to stop being so in love with that idea. It would be terrible . That idea is terrible .

Thank you.

Or you could make him Epic Ship Only or something, like some are advocating Emperor Palpatine should of have been. Then he is only on his own ship and not flying around in a YV-666.

Also, you could create an Illicit slot that adds a crew slot. Then you could equip Jabba on other Scum ships, but you have to use the Illicit slot to get the second crew slot so he can fit. Then he can fit on the G-1A, Jumpmaster, Slave I, YV-666, Lancer thingy (I forgot the class of the Shadowcaster ), and the HWK-290. You could still make it say Large or Huge Ship Only, if you wanted to excluded it from the HWK.

Edit: On second thought, just make Jabba require 1 Crew slot and 1 Illicit slot. It does the same thing without strange interactions of too many crew on other ships.

Two crew on a Firespray would be fantastic.

I don't care about getting Jabba crew, give me this.

That gets 3 crew on YT-1300s and 2 crew on YT-2400s if you are okay with losing engine upgrade. Double crew Rebel crew TIE Fighters might be a bit much if it wasn't limited to Large ships.

Are you INSANE?! You've just proposed an Asajj piloted Party Bus that can still spin its mobile arc with Gyroscopic Targeting. Because what the Party Bus REALLY needed was to deal stress and make it impossible to get behind.

Also, the next version of Dengaroo will have Zuckuss AND Tactician, so that it can double stress you if you shoot at it in arc. Pew pew!

I don't think the possibility was considered,

but it makes it part of the strategy to protect Jabba.

Right. You get the extra ammo to protect Jaba more violently, and it will not suddenly go away after he dies. BUT... If you let him die... don't go back to your port of origin.

:)

So I don't know if it's been mentioned but Jabba's Sail Barge according to the Star Wars comics, which are canon, is space capable.

Epic sized scum vessel anyone?

Well, the problem is that Jabba wouldn't really fly in a lot of large ships either. He might not want to step in to a Firespray or a Jumpmaster, but he might decide a quadjumper had room for him. I think it might be ok if he just came in a pack that had a scummy version of Outer Rim Smuggler. How to put him in a very specific set of ships is unclear. You could have a card that sucks up a specific type of slot to give an extra crew slot or a special title that could go on a few specific types of ship and give an extra slot.

The reason Jabba needs to take two slots is simple:

Palpatine takes two slots.

We all want Jabba to be really powerful.

We all know that Imperial players can get kinda whiny.

Therefore, when Jabba is the new meta, we don't want to hear all the Imperials whining about how Palpatine needs two slots and Jabba only needs one! :D

Plus, Jabba is huge. Seriously. I think this won't be a problem, because Scum will probably get another two-crew large ship soon and Jabba will come with that, giving him two options. But if Jabba comes out sooner, he could always use two different slots, like maybe a crew and a cannon or something. I just think one crew slot is too little of a cost for Jabba, especially if he's really, really powerful, which I think we all want! :)
