Do Not Want.
I must admit, this will be bought, if only for the force power... and more beasts.
Sounds good. Nice that they are still giving us crunch in the books.
An armoured, Force-using bounty hunter leaving a trail of bodies in her wake? Sounds like our very own Corellia Red ![]()
No doubt it will need a bit of tweaking for us, but the Indiana Jones style artefact hunt (with everyone chasing the maguffin) is already A Thing in the MarcyVerse. Dathomir was the equivalent of WW2 Poland for us, the place which finally brought the Jedi and the Alliance to blows in a bitter war, so it should be interesting to have some adventures there.
(All The Feels for that poor Cerean about to get bitten in the ass by a Space Crocodile...)
Edited by MaeloraYay! This looks like it will be fun and creepy - which is perfect! The new power feels like it'll be a dark-side leaning power, which is fitting for a planet of witches~
And I love witches! I'm expecting the Witch to be a Mystic spec, so that should tell you something
.
Gimme all that Dathomir!
It could be nice if that book include Nightsister playable specie.
That's just called a Zabrak Seeker, pretty much
. Or a Zabrak Mystic with the Witch spec... ![]()
So just double-checked the product page: a new Force power is confirmed.
So excited! I wonder if the location with the green apparitions is going to be the battle site between Dooku and the Nightsisters from the Clone Wars series!
It looks like they're going to write up the atrocity saber the Inquisitor had (and flew with ... ugh) too.
Edited by KylaFrom the article, it sounds like the ghosts are in the area of the abandoned mining operation. If that's the case, it's unlikely to be the area of that battle.
...Unless...the mining operation came to Dathomir AFTER the battle, in which case it could be...
So I guess the answer is "I don't know!" ![]()
Excited! What do you all think the new Force power will be?
I'm hoping that whatever the Force Power is it's their magicks rather than just another instant power.
I'm going to call it now and say the lady name dropped several times in the article will not be the final nemesis.
I'm going to call it now and say the lady name dropped several times in the article will not be the final nemesis.
I'm guessing she'll be someone who starts out like a big bad, but it turns out she and the PCs have a lot in common and they have a chance to redeem her. Or something along those lines...
Looking forward to this one. Might take a bit of tweaking for the introduction to the adventure proper, but this sort of thing would be right up the alley of my FaD group, seeing as how we've got an Archaeologist in the party and part of the group's cover story for checking out various locations is archaeological research/investigation.
Really hoping that the Inquisitor spin-sabers don't get much more of a stat write-up beyond "has the exact same stats as a double-bladed lightsaber, move along."
When I wrote up stats for the spin 'sabers, I made it an attachment to a double-bladed that adds Resist Disarm (because of the hand guard) as an innate tashkent, with a 2x modifications that allow you to spend a maneuver and suffer 2 strain to add Linked 1 to an attack.
So the spinny 'saber and a crystal is all you get for a double-bladed, and you can potentially increase your linked by up to 2, at a worse cost than Saber Swarm. Seemed to fit...
A Toydaria/Dathomir book is an interesting mix. Underworld and untamed wilds should provide some interesting ways to challenge everyone in a party.
The new force power intrigues me, it would be shocking if it wasn't some kind of spell, given the tone of the article a Shadow Magic spell would fit... but I know practically nothing of the Nightsisters magic, is there anything in particular that stands out as a signature spell?
I would have agreed on the spin saber point, up until the released the Temple Guard lightsaber pikes, which are even closer in appearance to a double than the spinny ones.
I'm sure they will include them, as silly as they may be. Seeing as how few varities of lightsaber there are, compared to other weapon types, they may not want to pass up the option.
I'm seeing Illusion Magicks and Weather Magicks on Wookiee. But the use of both the Light and Dark side of The Force seems to be the key. Perhaps it will be one of the duality powers like Heal/Harm. Or it could require both Dark and Light to fuel its Mastery
I'm fine with the spin sabers as long as you can't fly with em.
Could be the reanimation or the voodoo-doll Harm power. I often wondered how or if they'd tackle the Dathomir magic/force use - including it in a setting with an adventure is excellent.
The new power could be something along the lines of the imbue effect that Mother Talzin gave to Maul, Savage and Ventress, where she permanently increased their abilities which seems to last until death.
Or the creepy doll power, though that was basically just the harm power on beyond a planetary range scale.
Or the reanimate thing, but that would be bonkers powerful and isn't actually a resurrect spell but a reanimate one.
Everything else I can think of that the Nightsisters did in TCW is something already available in the game.
Here's a listing of Dathomi magic from the EU. There might be some possibility.
Ohhh they had a Force Scream power... neat, though again, that could just be narrative flavor for the Harm power. I'll read up on this, thanks.
