i'm running a game in which the players had to face off with a giant snake during one of their creature encounters. one of the Jedi characters rolled several criticals as the fight played out and as it turns out the crit table isn't really set up for creatures without limbs! over the course of the fight the snake received a "sudden jolt" making it "drop whatever was in hand." and later was "crippled" having one of it's limbs cut off.
obviously a snake has no hands and only has one limb. i had the player re-roll on the crit table for a more appropriate result in the table when it received it's "sudden jolt." and when it was crippled, it's tail was fully severed and i reduced it's movement accordingly. my questions for the community is:
would you have done it differently?
if so, what would you recommend when using the crit table against creatures that don't have limbs?
thanks in advance!
