Happy Friday ROGUE ONE

By Cubanboy, in Star Wars: Armada

Today is a great friday,

This trailer is amazing, and I start my new job next week. Armada keeps getting better, Star Wars keeps getting better. SUCH A GREAT TIME TO BE A FAN.

BE excellent to each other kids.

So yes, new capital ships show up around 1:55-1:58. Looks like there's a Hammerhead cruiser. There's also something very odd looking just before the explosion/transition, that shows up in the top-right corner boxed in by the X-Wing and the Hammerhead. Looks like a very large ship. Any guesses?

edit- On further inspection it could be a Star Destroyer, but it would have to be at a very awkward angle and I can't see some distinctive angles and engine placements I'd expect to see if that were the case.

I love the Nebs at 1:58. The rebel fleet is sweet.

Looking forward to this one hitting the theaters

Looking at it, it looks like 17 ships,

2 hammerheads (1 distinctive, and 1 that just has the bottom rear portion, which appears distinctive)

2 Neb-Bs (Very distinct)

5 Corvettes (min)

7 more of a single class. that I'm not sure, I think they are transports (or maybe corvettes).

1 unknown in the upper right that looks a lot liked a winged liberty, but if it were, it would be going backwards. (I also see no engine glow.)

A nifty little fleet, but not something*, you'd want to be tangling with a single ISD with, unless that's a mon cal cruiser (for which, old canon would question, as it was after the Death Star was finished that Ackbar was freed, and Mon Cal went to the rebellion.)

*Armada relative values not withstanding!

Awesome as always Cuban!

Well I hope:

a) There IS a proper rebel fleet

and

b) There is an adequately explained reason why they arent even referenced in A New Hope. (Even if its mon mothma saying "send the fleet to the outer rim - they can't stand against this - we need to find another way here in the core systems" or something like that.

c) Even better, would be some sort of linkage to Vaders comment just before Yavin - "we will soon see the end of the rebellion". Some sort of mention that Yavin is the alliances political and financial hub and that without the base at Yavin the fleet is a non issue.....

Best Cuban .... have a good one back at ya!

I'm so not clicking play ... Yes I'm specifically torturing myself and trying to avoid knowledge about Rogue until that fateful opening night when I'm in the theatre, pop corn tub in hand and I'm 8 years old again watching the initial text crawl going ooooooo.

I think this could be hand waved with a simple "this battle is so important that victory is worth losing the entire fleet for."

*loses the entire fleet*

"Yay, we won!!"

*Gives out medals to everybody but the wookiee*
