What sort of expansion wouldn't you dare hope for?

By Mikael Hasselstein, in Star Wars: Armada

There are ideas for expansions that many of us have, that will probably never see the light of day. Either the ship is too obscure, or big; the faction too hated, or your entire concept too bizarre for FFG to ever fathom making it for a mass audience.

Which off-the-wall idea is yours?

Mine is expansions of civilian ships with new (tournament-legal) objectives. I'm thinking of vessels like the BFF-1 bulk freighter or Action VI transport, which - like the flotillas - doesn't really have armament. The objectives could be about the first player destroying/capturing such vessels, which are placed somewhere in the middle, but controlled by the second player.

Another idea would involve pirates.

I don't think they'll ever do such a thing.

But I still think it would be cool.

I'm asking for the things they wouldn't produce.

They already made the MC80 Home One. And it does come in a box.

"Admirals of the Aturi Cluster", right after an official box set of the "Heroes" version.

Step 1: Cut a hole in the box...

Simple, SSD lol. But actually, Hapan battle dragons.

Trade Federation Battle/Control ship

Star trek crossover.

Finally be able to settle that eternal debate of who would win between the enterprise and a Star Destroyer...

Death Star.

Smuggler's Alliance, with Talon Karrde as the admiral. They wouldn't be able to field any ships larger than small but it certainly would be interesting.

New Republic Fleet Wave (s):

Sacheen-Class Escort, Majestic-Class Heavy Cruiser, Nebulon-Class Star Destroyer and Endurance-Class Fleet Carrier with K-Wing, A-9 Vigilance, HLAF-500 and Rebel Defender fighters.

Old Republic and Sith.

Knights of the Old Republic: Old Republic, Sith, and Mandalorian fleets.

Seconded for the Battledragon

A campaign set that features experience for your 'nameless' admiral and/or ships. Loads of new titles, support cards, some minor ships (think flotilla size), and so on.

Mon Remonda

Anti Rhymer and demolisher cruise missile. Deploy automatically and remove those two sods from the table. 5 points.

A Correllian Conflict style campaign that crosses over with Imperial Assault. When you finish your space battle there is a final skirmish to control a base/structure/spaceship etc.

I think that would be pretty cool even though it would takes ages.

Some players say their smaller mc30 in a box is just as good as the larger mc80....

World Devastators and dual faction ships, I'd also love to have some civilian ships for mission and campaign purposes.

A book of missions, both "historical" and speculative.

The missions would specify exactly what ships were on each side and provide special objectives that were the entire point of the battle.

Old timers will remember this from the Star Fleet Battles scenarios.

It's not about how many dice you have, its how you manipulate them.
