Best fleets using one of every upgrade

By Dedmanzhand, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Hi all

Just curious what the best Imp and Rebel fleets would be if you only owned the core set and one of each expansion? I am yet to play my first game, and looking to set one up soon with a friend. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

There is no such thing as "best", really. If you have one of everything, you have so many combinations, you just can't list them all.

Rebels: A pack of small ships MC30+CR90 (core)+CR90 (Expansion)+Yavaris with TRCs all aroud plus a bunch of fighters. Or Ackbar on MC80+MC30+CR90 all with TRC, or Liberty+Someone+GR75.... these are all viable lists. And these are only the basic Rebel list.

Now turning your question around about what expansions to buy, for Rebels I would highly recommend the Fighters, Home One, and MC30. For the Imps Fighters, ISD, and Gladiator. In this order if you don't have the money. IMO these three add the most variety to your possible builds on each side. And if you're into the game you may keep buying expansions of your convenience.

The beauty of Armada exactly is that there is no such thing as "best list". In fact, there is ALWAYS a list that will trash your fleet no matter what you do ;)

Thanks for the info! I already have one of each expansion (and all fully painted too), but no real experience of putting a fleet list together. Just looking for some pointers, as when I look at other fleet list threads there seem to be multiples of ships I only have the one of, or 6x A-Wings when I only have 2 etc.

Best to have a stab yourself then post the results here but explain the no duplicate packs restriction. Then we can get to work refining them.

I concur with Madcat. Because everyone has their own version of what would be best. So you should decide if you want to try

a)outmaneuvering your opponent (armada can be won or lost with good maneuvering if one is good enough, regardless of fleet composition). For this, use your small ships, and typically about 60-80 points in fighter squadrons.

b)outgunning your opponent (it's nice to be able to just unload a fistful of dice and take lots of damage without dying). Use large and medium ships with small ship support. Specifically the flotilla. And also bombers

Or c)some combination (minimal upgrades but high activation). Do your own thing, and someone will show you how to optimize it.

Should also decide between using a bomber strategy (lots of points in squadrons) or a screening strategy (few points in squadrons).

Typically you want 3-5 activations in a fleet, but if you post a list we'll help out with that.

I'm a rebel player, so I'll put up some good rebel combos

Bomber triple tap: lots of moving parts, but absolutely devastating

-yavaaris with fighter coordination team/flight commander.

-Adar Talon (on a different ship).

-bomber command center.

-Toryn Farr.

-Nym, Keyan, and/Or Luke/lots of bombers

B hive: simple and easy to use, making your slow squads very efficient

-Fighter coordination team on an MC80 command cruiser. Flight commander is acceptable, but takes up the valuable officer slot

-B-wings/slow squadrons

Calamari Drift: very focused on maneuver and using navy commands

-Madine

-Mc30s and Mc80s (either variant)

Rieekan Aces: the default commander for wave II rebels.

-general Rieekan

-ace squadrons

Rieekan Zombies: gaming the system, but highly unthematic and generally not fun for most opponents

-lots of small ships for ramming your opponent to death

Dodonna bombers: typical of bomber fleets

-cheapest general

-lots of bombers

-bomber command center

Dodonna Synergy: this is just a list of ways to synergize with Dodonna's effect

-XX9 Turbos on big ships

-Assault Proton torpedos and Ordnance experts on Mc30s

-Xi7 and XX9 on the Liberty MC80.

-Toryn Far on a flotilla next to blue dice ships

Salvation: lowest costing, easy to use hard hitter for the Rebels. Mc30s might be more efficient, but are harder to use

-Salvation on the refit Neb

-spinal Armament or Turbolaser reroute Circuits

Landmonition: most annoying thing to kill in the game, maybe

-MC30 torpedo

-Lando, Admonition, ordnance experts, APTs or some other ordnance upgrade
