Best use of 21 points rebel

Playing around with this list idea. Wanted 4 ships with guns.

Blue Squadron with HLC

Gold Squadron with TLT

Biggs with R4-D6 and Integrated Astro.

Leaves me with 21 points. My thought is either a Non integrated astro Rookie X-wing or a BTL-A4 Gold with Dorsal turret for a nice range 1-2 punch.

I've recently tried to find places for this handy guy here:

Lt. Blount w/ VI, Ion Pulse Missile and GChips. Guarantee you will Ion something, even a big ship. Lt. Blount is also the bane of Stealth Devices. Exactly 21 pts.

I've had a lot of success flying 3 Rookies at 21 points each. 4 ship lists give you so much maneuvering ability. With the list you've got so far, it seems to fit in fairly nicely.

Your options are a bit limited. They're like;

HWK with Ion Turret

T-65 X-Wing, stark naked

Zeb in Attack Shuttle

A-Wing with Refit, Crackshot, Autothrusters ...then like, either VI or Draw their Fire (to help support Biggs, I guess?)

What ships do you have access to? It's totally possible to have fun with a 4 ship Rebel List, they're just way too hard to fly for most people (myself included).

You've got Biggs to protect your discount Stress Mule, an A-Wing for Blocks and Zeb to barrel roll around the edge of the fight and try to catch arc-dodging aces in his Autoblaster Turret range. It'd be a tough list to fly, but it's got the tools to win. /shrug

My choices, in order;

Rebel Op. w/ Ion

Gold Sq. w/ R2, ABT, BTL-A4.

I like your list quite a bit but am wondering if HLC is eating too many points?

Also, it seems to me that you don't have one primary target you are trying to protect so maybe swap Biggs out for another Ion or TLT shot. Or maybe not? Not sure the best plan there.

For 21 pts I have always liked an Attack Shuttle Ezra with rage and Chopper crew.

I kinda chuckled here, because the chimps do precisely nothing in this build, other than show off that you HAVE the card. That said, Blount with IPM is definitely a good use of those points, especially if you're gonna be up aganst a large-base ship.

I'm not sure I agree with HLC on a blue. Sure, you get 4 dice attacks, but with FCS you are consistently hitting the default 3 dice more often. FCS should be stapled to all your B-Wing cards. Also don't rule out E2 with Hera for another 2 points. What that allows is access to 1 turns and the 2 K to keep tight on the ship you've FCSed. Think of it as a Mini-Lothal.

With that, you free up a few points for Tarn Mison. I can't believe he isn't seeing more play as a alternative to Biggs.

Tarn is not an alternative to Biggs, that is why it is not seeing more play. Tarn actually makes the opponent focus other targets to get away from Tarn's ability. Biggs makes you focus Biggs. The only reason X-wings are seeing any play at the moments is Biggs (save maybe Wes). They are just too predictable and far to easy to kill. Its tough right now to even want to play the T-70s right now as the ARC and the K wing with Biggs around do way more damage. Poe is still viable, but he loses out late game to the most common ships in the meta: Defenders.

Also, the Lt. Blount Idea is very solid. But crack shot A-wings are great for blocking and can still do some damage if attacking the right ship.
