Hammerhead Corvette spotted in new rouge one trailer (I'm pretty sure)

By AdmiralThrawn, in Star Wars: Armada

Look at the top right of the new trailer around 1:58, looks like the Hammerhead from rebels to me next to a neb b.

(sorry but I don't know how to post a screenshot)

If it wasn't gurenteed for the game before, it's gotta be now.

Unfortunate.

I don't have my glasses at the moment, so I need a good screenshot to help me out, because I can't see it on my own tryiing to pause at the correct tiem.

It's visible for several seconds, just quickly pause and play for the x wings in space sequence.

Others on Facebook have spotted it as well, Porkins is in the trailer too.

Potential new pilots and ships for the next wave

Well spotted but this is already in the other Rogue One Trailer thread.

This is the screenshot

Ah, okay, so second from the right along the top edge. Probably the left-most along that edge as well.

What's the thing behind the right X-Wing (right-most along the top edge)?

That is the bottom part of a Rebel MK2F assault frigate!

But... seriously. It doesn't really look like it, IMO.

.gif notwithstanding - nor my personal opinion of its aesthetic quality - Lucasfilm should try to put the Assault Frigate into canon

You're just upset none of the Rebel Capital ships are exploding.

Curse you for seeing through me.

But: They will be; they will be.

Whoops! I actually mean the AF Mark 2 A/B

To me it looks like the bottom pod of the ship with a structure going up to the top of the picture just like the bottom of the AFM2

Yes, you're talking about the Space Potato, which is in our game (this).

I just don't think it looks like the bottom pod from that, unless it's turned in the opposite direction of the rest of the fleet. Possible, but implausible, IMO.

I'd settle for a new type of capital ship if it isn't.

I just dropped a pciture in the Rogue one thread.

Pretty sure its either tthe butt-end of another Hammerhead, or the lowest tip of a Neb-B

My guss on the ship behind the right X-wing is a Venator Stardestroyer or a updated version. Why you ask? Ship looks like its heading toward the rebels. I think the the motion blur is making it a bit curved at the front. From the angle we can maybe see what looks to be the inward cut to one of the side hangers which could be a mistake caused by the obscuring X-wing cannon.

It could be a winged MC80 pointing the wrong way. Though it looks too smooth to be a that.

If it would be another Neb, then we should also be able to see a significant portion of the aft sections. Look at the other Nebs and the angles at which they're pictured, and the angle of the chunk of the ship that we see. I don't know about you, but I'm ruling it out as being a Neb.

The shape is way off for a Hammerhead. Look at it. The thing above is more straightened-banana shaped. The Hammerhead corvette is more cylindrical with tapered ends:

Yes, but they're referring to the Hammerheads in the Picture that exist already, Mikael - which do appear to be different than the Rebels Hammerhead.

It actually looks exactly like the hammerhead for rebels. The tapered darker ends shown on the rebels picture are still in the Rogue one trailer. Against the backdrop of space the darker sections almost disappears so it looks more like an extension or pod etc but it's the same look as in Rebels upon closer inspection.

::really wishes he had his glasses::

For the record, I think my Toddler took them with him to school.

Jeez, if it isn't a lack of coffee, it's a lack of glasses or a favorable exchange rate. :P

I'm not saying that I know what this ship is. It might very well be something entirely new, or something that's old, but the shadows are obscuring it. Who knows.

I grabbed Audio Weasel's .gif (here) and unpacked it to see if more came to light, looking at it in different frames. I can't say that I've seen anything more illuminating. It does indeed look like the undercarriage of something (the way that the Neb and the AFMKII do), but since at the angle it's at, I can't imagine that it's a Neb. Maybe the movie-makers have made a AFMKII, but with a different sort of undercarriage. I just don't know.

Neither do I, man, and I'll accede to your judgements of it...

Stupid Frail Eyes.

So what sort of role does it have in Rebels?

Scale wise is it comparable to a CR90?

It seems to mostly be a cargo transport. I think it's a bit bigger than a CR90, but I can't really be sure.

If not larger than neb, then likely to be small class in armada next time
