i have to agree with Forresto on the RotJ front. I watched the trilogy last week and I was kinda stunned on how much I disliked a lot of Jedi. That said, the film has some of my favourite cinematic moments, hands down. It's so clashing, but in that sense, Jedi was made up of some incredible moments that put it over the top (Lando, the space battle in its completeness, Luke vs. Vader as an capstone emotional piece over just a choreographed fight) but I actually fast forwarded through part of the Ewok 'village' bit and didn't care for the first act. I didn't think I would ever do that, it felt wrong but I realized just how little I missed.
That said, I did spy out at least 2-3 dead rebel commandos laying around, but yeah, not that compelling or dangerous. How were they gonna storm the front of a well defended complex with that again? Now, get rid of the ewoks with the naga-like original inhabitants that were hunting the Imperials at every turn and we've got an interesting bit of evil vs. evil storytelling. There was an article a while back about the iterations that the script went through and some of the original elements were pretty compelling (like the Rebels winning a Pyrrhic victory that all but destroyed them too).
Rogue One... we'll have to see, but it's hitting a lot of the right notes for me so far.
