I'm thinking that most of the fleet will get annihilated and that's why we just have snubfighters in a New Hope
Prediction: Many rebels will die

Not necessarily, the Rebels separated their base and the Rebel fleet on purpose because they could afford losing one and not both.
Plus, if my experiences in Rebellion are any indication, the Rebels wanna keep their fleet distant from the base because they can use Dodonna to jump fighters anywhere at a moments notice to blow up my Death Star and keep the fleet moving so that I never learn where their base is.
I mean, so the empire never learns, obviously.
I'm not salty at all.

"BUILD MORE DEATH STARS!"
"My Lord, We Cannot..."
"WHY?"
" You Require More Tibanna Gas... "
It wasn't a bad trailer other than the whole father issue that it brought up. Geez, what is it with fathers in the Star Wars universe?
This makes me smile. I could watch it for hours

Me too, though it's because it's of a filthy rebel being killed by our glorious Imperial Navy, though...
Lord, Star Wars fanboys are so whiney. If you seriously think the TFA was bad, why the hell are you still here? Now quiet down while the rest of us drool over this trailer.
The reasons we are still here:
-Maybe because there is some people who thinks that Armada is not only about the Star Wras franchise, but also just being a great game
-It's not because you disliked TFA that you can't give Disney an other try and be exited for rogue one.
-Some of use might not even care about Rogue One but just want to see what new canon ships can potentially be brought to Armada
People just wanted for a reason to hate the movie because it was popular
If you care to listen to them there is plenty of very rational and reasonable reasons why people disliked TFA. You are free to disagree but just sayin': " you are just haters" is a bit easy.
Personally, considering how much I disliked the TFA I am not expecting much from Rogue One, but if we could have an actual space battle that last for that 2 minutes that would be great.
FEAR ma l337 l0gickz0rz!
I like [T-65] X-wings.
I like Nebulons.
Pew pew pew.
Therefore, I am happy.
So.... where's the HAMMERHEAD ARTICLE FFG! OMG RAGEQUITS y u hate us?!?
My completely subjective, irrelevant to you, personal take on TFA? T-70 is ugly. New stormie armor is great, helmet is meh. Putting an AFG on the e-11 instead of having the sterling stock seems to make them hit better (as well as putting VLTOR sopmod m4 stocks on the guns!) Having a star wars without greedo shooting first, gungans, ewoks, "I don't like sand," or "UNLIMITED POWER!", or "noooooo" ? Good enough for me!
PS I still liked the prequel trilogy, if only for the fact that there was the shot of the Venator broadsiding the CIS cruiser in the first 10 minutes of RotS and lots of clones/droids falling over from explodies.
Looks like an awful lot of shaky-cam. The really bad kind of shaky-cam where you don't really notice but about twenty minutes into the movie you have a headache.
Lets see, I don't understand the revisionist history both Lucas and some fanbois have around the OT.
In the OT you have:
- Lots of people dying both explicitly and implied
- Limbs getting chopped off
- The freshly charred skeletons of someones caregivers
- An old dude getting chucked into his certain death
- Corpse burning
- Incest
- an animal ridden to death and then eviscerated
- Torture
- Slavery
- The destruction of an entire planet
- Physical assault
- More torture
- Gratuitous death of indigenous teddy bears
- People nearly getting cooked alive
- Living creature graphically choked to death
These are just a few of the things off the top of my head. Star Wars might have been "for kids" but maybe kids are sheltered wusses these days. Star Wars was never made for kids it was made for adults and it so happened that it captured the imagination of younger viewers.
'"George came back from 'Star Wars' a nervous wreck," Spielberg said. "He didn’t feel 'Star Wars' came up to the vision he initially had. He felt he had just made this little kids' movie ."'

IIRC in ANH Dodanna specifically points out that their capital ships are useless against the death star and the Empire considers a small one man fighter to not be a threat. That is why we see no Caps in ANH.

George's vision:
If you'd spent a chunk of time in Tunisia , you'd think sand was effin' evil, too...

In the 70s all of these things were just fine for kids movies.
People are much more sensitive these days.
The bitter nerds complaining a bout TFA gets old real fast...
Who's more
annoying
foolish, the
complainer
fool or the
complainers that complains about the complaining
fool who follows him?
That little teaser involving the space battle has me downright salivating...
I liked TFA, but it's funny seeing people who are so adamant that they don't care about "TFA detractors", yet can't help but constantly post about them. I guess the force works in mysterious ways. :^)
On a more serious note, if the scoring in the R1 trailer is any indicator of its quality in the movie I think we're in a for a real treat. I got chills when Krennic said "The power we are dealing with here is immeasurable."
Maybe because it's gets old that they turn every threat into "I didn't like TFA WAHHH look at me!"

Point taken. Now, back to pew pew lazers!
Seriously, this thread needs to get back on topic. We have so many cool shots to discuss and speculate on.
I'm still just drooling over the fleet shot. So many ships. I'm guessing that the Rebels pull together all their cells in a desperate attempt to get the Death Star plans. We are very likely looking at the "first victory" we're told of in the opening scrawl of New Hope.
