Gunner on a raider. Misses aft turbo laser. Fires main gun again?
Gunner question.
Is that what the alt gunner card was made for?

What "alt gunner card"?
Weeeell, yeah. You could do that but Gunner also says that you cannot perform another attack this round, so you might want to reconsider this if you have other secondary weapons you want to fire also.

got an alt gunner card as a prize support.

In that case it is the same as a regular Gunner card in all respects. It just features different artwork, I assume?

Presume.

Can but then could not fire any other secondary weapons that have not been fired yet.

It's a guy in the Imperial Navy clamshell helmet like the Death Star gunners. Sorta like the Imperial-uniformed Recon Specialist from a couple kits ago.

Nor the Raider's built-in second primary shot. If you're planning on running a Gunner Raider, your best bet is to start with the primary attack, then if you've got the energy do the second one, then start in on hardpoints, starting with the ones you think are most likely to hit and working your way down. Once you trigger Gunner, you can't do any more secondary attacks, so it'll be a cost-benefit question on each miss.

I figured that was it, but it's not often that someone suggests an "alternate" card works differently from it's regular version.

I think he probably just meant it would be weird to have a Wookiee manning a station on an Imperial Navy capital ship.
