Regionals Prizes

By shmitty, in Star Wars: Armada

Very solid prize pool I must say. Pretty much everything is solid. 4 of each dice instead of 3 is nice, double sided brace, and double sided range ruler are fantastic. The alt art CR90 might be the best alt art ship card yet IMO.

Naw the VSD-1 Card is awesome. So shiny.

... I'll Never See a VSD card in person, so its irrelevant to me....

I must respectfully disagree with both of you. (Coming from an Imperial player too)

Your opinion is different from mine, and so it is wrong.

The CR90 card is hot tho.

Well I say good day sir, GOOD DAY!!

Closest regional is 4 hours away. Nothing in OK, AR, KS. Team Covenant has been told no by FFG because they can't fit enough.

Its ok Sooner, a lot of people are experiencing varying degrees of frustration with the regional locations. I live near Los Angeles, one the largest cities in the world and home to a good sized Armada community, and our nearest regionals is San Diego at 2+ hours, and the next after that is Vegas, NV or Phoenix AZ, which are both 5 hours at least.

So I might get to one regionals, though it is unlikely, and two or three like some people are talking about is out of the question.

I think I'm within 5 hours of 3 events. Closest being at least 2hrs away. All in February in the NE corner of the US.

Not ideal. But I'll probably make one.

Closest to me is 3 and a half hours. Hmmm. That prize package is shiny.....oohhhhh....

Three regionals for me. Another first place trophy would be nice, but more sparkly dice and a decent ruler is all the incentive I need.

... you know which one you are going to.

I believe I'll be finding hotels with a refund policy. One of which will be in Western PA.

Is this the third time in a year that range rulers are in the prize pool?

Yes, but only the second time they've been Double Sided, and the First time its a Double-Sided one available outside of the North American Championships.

I might try to hit the one in Monroeville, since my semi-local store doesn't have one this time

Should I plan on preregistering to make sure I have a spot?

Acrylic brace tokens.

I'm happy about that!

Now... what about acrylic engineering tokens...?

Those will be seasonal kit prizes.

Some of us haven't managed to win one set yet.

I got a set from the Store Champ... But they are two rulers, but double sided. No thanks. I'm going to cut them up into distance 1, and close range rulers.

Man, that distance one ruler is my best Armada investment, maybe that or the laser line.

For my part, for instance, I'm somewhat oversaturated with range rulers (five of them), but missed out on the dice.

I'm like DerErlkoenig, I cut my acrylic range rulers down to different sizes.

I just even cut one down to be a movement 4 template for squadrons. (Place the template against one side of the squadron, and then move the squadron to the other side of the template for the max movement 4. ie. the template is range 4 minus the diameter of the squadron base.)

So we are led to believe...

So we are led to believe...

Lol, we'll see I guess!

I just meant that in theory, if they ever decide to release engineering tokens, then they would likely pick the seasonal kits to get broader exposure.

Then again, maybe they'll use them as Top 4 Worlds prizes, just to watch the aftermarket explode. ;)

Had a chance to open up the prize kit last night.

The CR-90 may be the nicest alt art yet. It looks great.

The defense tokens look really sharp also. Same design as GenCon 2015, but double sided.

The ruler is nice, but wow is that a bright orange color.

This is the nicest looking trophy in a prize kit yet.
