Days Since We Last Had To Make Up Rules As We Went Along: 0

By Ardaedhel, in Star Wars: Armada

To be short on it:

We're not going to agree on anything here, because our situations are vastly different.

You see this as something that has happened to you, and it is reprehensable to you.

I see this as a situation where you had something awesome, and now you've merely got something good, and that's okay, because good is what I've had to put up with, just because.

I most definitely feel that its a bit of elitism... But I'm entitled to that opinion. Because my situation, in comparison, is crappy, and I am jealous. Your **** right I am jealous on where you've been.

Do I feel its a bit of vindication? Sure. I'll admit to schadenfreude... I'm a big enough man to do that.

I'm sorry you feel this is a travesty.

I'm sorry you feel you had your prices 'hiked' on you.

And, most of all, I am sorry that, because my situation has been, and will continue to be, worse than the way you still have it... I will continue to be jealous.

Enough on it, though - I'm going to take that fact - The Fact that I AM CLEARLY IN THE WRONG HERE, and walk from the Thread.

Not sure where you think I feel I have been wronged here. I said they raised price. (Which I can prove they have. FFG also said they cut online retailers' discount. that is a price hike.)

This isn't reprehensible to me at all. I haven't been wronged. It isn't personal. FFG can raise prices any time they want.

Just playing the semantics card, but just because they cut a discount does not make it a price hike. Yes, that might be in effect what the end result is, but it is not really a price hike. I do not know what there policy is as to retail prices, but it could be that they set MSRP and expect retailers' to stick with it, when they find that some (online) are not they cut there discount so that they have to. Although it could also be that they just want more money and this is an easy way to get it. As for what I have seen the prices have not changed one bit, but I buy from my local stores who were already selling at MSRP.

Dude whining about price rises is more of a cool GW forum staple thing isn't it?

I don't need an FaQ. I just read the card.

Oh, fantastic, glad you have it all figured out! Sounds like you should write it to illuminate us plebs who don't.

Edit: you can start with this list. Just make sure there's no ambiguity in your interpretations, so that you can absolutely guarantee that TOs will see it your way every time, which is the whole point of asking for an FAQ instead of just shaking hands and agreeing on interpretations with your opponent.https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/230127-world-cup-qualifier-rule-and-signup-thread/?p=2415256

OK but before I can get around to doing it I'll let you into a little secret.........

a little revelation........

One of the Core Mechanics of this type of game is that the cards overrule the RaW.

This means that the L2P and RR are just guides and not the law, the cards "ARE" the law.

As soon as you have to read an card you can throw the L2P and RR out the window.

Example:

The RR says that upgrades are optional but as soon as you read the Jamming Fields card (which has no mention of being optional) you can throw the RR out the window.

Nothing in the RR is relevant when it comes to card abilities.

I don't need an FaQ. I just read the card.

This post is so outlandish, I'm not sure if it's sad, or hilarious.

I'll settle for 50/50.

The price hike is to pay for the FAQ?

I feel like all of the distractions on this thread are like FFG putting out more news about Arkham Whatever.

I came here to hear Ard B*tch about not having MOAR Forking FAQs! :)

Seconded. Ard! Get back in here and ***** about the lack of FAQ some more!

I don't need an FaQ. I just read the card.

This guy...

Ard, have you not been reading the cards this whole time?!

This explains soooo much!

The cards say things with words? I was just going by the pictures!

Dras, you should dig a tunnel from Canada to the US and get your stuff a bit cheaper!

But I understand the dilemma now. I never considered shipping across borders, mainly because I never have had to do that.

We have one already....its called a the Rainbow Bridge at Niagara Falls....many people go shopping in the US and don't declare stuff :D

How many FAQ's have there been so far. One for each expansion? Also, where can I find them all?

How many FAQ's have there been so far. One for each expansion? Also, where can I find them all?

The most recent one incorporates all changes / clarifications made thus far.

There is an FAQ and tournament regs link on the product page.

I think the main concern is that there is a world championship coming, and the people going would like to know if the stuff they've been practicing with works the way it is interpreted to.

They have released an updated one shortly after (policy is no less than 30 days after) each expansion to address new interactions and cards from the expansion, as well as occasional updates for new questions.

The most current FAQ, as well as all of the other rules documentation, can always be found on the product page here: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/star-wars-armada/ .

EXCEPT THAT IT'S SEVEN GODDAMN MONTHS OLD NOW (that one was for Truthiness, my erstwhile B-wing bro).

I went to the Imperial Assault forum and it's like a bizzaro version of this forum because of the same avatars.

Look Assault's gotten a bajillion articles, they can wait, Armada could use the love.

In my community, Imperial Assault is all but dead. I've been trying to keep it on life support, and I don't own a single IA model.

Is it more successful in your environs?

I think FFG is trying to keep it alive; maybe at our expense.

IA is a great game. I think more people play it at home than at stores though.

I've never been fortunate enough to play IA yet.
