It's like that objective game (IS, iirc) they showed in the 2015 Worlds semifinals, where the corvette swarm just snatched points and disengaged with almost no shots fired the whole game. Fantastic flying and great high-level game play, but not the most engaging thing to watch if you're just walking by the table.

I understand, but from, like you said, a non-player PoV, it just felt like 2 fleets that slammed into each other and dice that were rolled. Even I took the time in the comments section to tell people it's not as monotonous as this. When Armada is called the "strategic game", you expect more than, you know, that!

Some of the comments on the video seem to agree as well.

I watched that online and was quite into the match at the time, second guessing the players' decisions in real time had me on the edge of my seat. I'd never take youtube comments to be a sign of anything (except maybe how far we still have to go as a civilization)

Have you been on these forums, recently?

The best move of that match was Admo sneaking in to pop the flotilla and killing Yavaris.

I didn't particularly enjoy it because Brik was clearly tired and made several mistakes, from how he moved things to accidentally nudging ships. If he was able to sleep the extra day, it would have been a great bomber fest with 2 skilled players.

I'm glad FFG changed the tourney structure so everyone is on even footing.

OP tournament Regulation fixes are handled by a different department (FFG OP), not Mr. Gernes. And they're close to being universal to all game systems, or at least, a hack copy/paste job in the past.

At the very least - its a different person who does those updates - they're not even in the same room (but apparently, you can see them from where he works).

Wasn't it the case that the NA Championship was run without an updated FAQ? Or has my memory failed me (again)?

I mean, that was the basis of the prediction thread (and I know, yes, this is not it, but hear me out) - the point was the marry facts, supposition and educated guesswork, to put a reason why.

If you just keep repeating the same thing with no additional information, you're generally ignored - because you just sound like you're endlessly repeating yourself.

or

At the moment, man, nothing against you - it just sounds like you're saying after worlds, so when it does drop anytime after worlds and the end of time, you can say, "I WAS RIGHT!"

... This is just another random post peeve from me, I guess, and I apologise again... So often, when advice or statements are made and given, they lack the why, that is so important as to that decision.

"Drop that and take 'x' instead." is where it happens most often... Tell me Why, so I can make a reasoned argument. This is the internet, yes, but that means we have the information at our fingertips and should be sharing it.
