But after that, fire at will?

Entirely dependent on the quality of the FAQ. If we get something ridiculous like flotillas counting against squadron points, I can't be held responsible for my actions.

Do we really want them to know we're going to slap them silly once they release the FAQ? That will just motivate them to drag their feet harder. Wouldn't it be more effective to threaten it UNLESS we have an FAQ? The beatings will continue until morale improves and all that...
Obligatory bump of FAQ thread.
for what's it's worth, I sent FFG an e-mail asking if the FAQ is at least coming soon.
I usually don't do this, but last week it had been 2 months since I ordered a custom foam for Armada, and when I sent an e-mail asking where the hell is the foam, they basically said "woops, we completely forgot to send it to you". So hey, maybe they got a FAQ ready and they just forgot to post it??
Who needs a faq? It's just worlds. Let's have random to rulings instead.
In all seriousness: it has been 4 months since the release of the last wave and we still do not know how one of the competition-legal upgrade cards works at all. That is in addition to more general FAQs on card interactions.
I cannot emphasize this enough: it is a terrible precedent that the largest officially sponsored competitive event of the year is drawing this close without at least some effort at clarifying that card.
It seems likely that FFG is attempting to make a major change to the game for its next FAQ in the interest of improving the experience, and that is a noble goal. But that is a terrible excuse for not addressing a major issue like this promptly. Likewise, it is a terrible excuse to not correct the misprinted Armed Station card even if the general issue is related to the Corellian Conflict expansion.
Correcting these simple issues should not be subject to ransom by a broader core mechanical change which may or may not be settled on in advance of the next major competition.

Looks like someone has volunteered himself to be the voice of the pitchfork and torches Armada player mob at FFG HQ that will form soon if no FAQ

I'll bravely lead that mob safely from California ![]()
But seriously, I'd encourage players to politely advise Mr Gernes, if they see him, that handling these basics is in the interest of the community. I've yet to even see RLB get played, despite multiple persons in my area expressing an interest in that sort of ability prior to the card releasing. Deespite that lack of play, just bringing up what the existing positions are on the discussion results in loud arguments in person, even without the card on the table or being used in the games. Every TO has to house rule the card and none of them agree on what it should be.
This passion for the game should be going to getting players interested and invested in new fleet ideas, not arguing over what a card is intended to do.

Don't worry, I'm much more polite IRL than I am to you sons of ******* on here.
.............Conspiracy theory alert............listen carfully I will say this only once..............Maybe there is no FAQ because Armada is dead and they've not told anyone yet because they still want us to go out and buy the next wave, which they had to produce because of a contract with the manufacturer........

that's honestly something I fear myself. Not that I think Armada is dead from a community and activity POV, but from a FFG supporting the game one. That would suck as hell though and I believe this would be a bad move from FFG, especially considering the flock of X-Wing players we've had recently.

Doesnt anyone find it troubling they keep releasing new games when they have trouble supporting the ones they have?

Yes and no.
From an emotional perspective one worries that they are stretched too thin and are unable to properly support games we love.
But on the other hand, unless they have some criminally incompetent management, they should be able to scale resources to match workload. More games/IP being produced = more money = more staff to produce those games and support them. If they are simply working the same number of staff and stretching them thin in some stupid attempt at desperate, poorly planned money grabs then we would see things like support documents taking over a hundred da....uh.
I would be pretty surprised if FFG were planning to kill off Armada at this point. With the large influx of X-wingers, as well as the anecdotal explosion of new players I've seen both locally and in the Rules Forum, not to mention consistently growing attendance at events like Regionals, Stele Open, etc, I think it unlikely that Armada is not turning a profit right now.
From a business perspective it would be really dumb (IMO of course) to railroad a STAR WARS game right now. This IP is only getting bigger and bigger, and more and more valuable.
The 1B Disney spent seems like the greatest business deal.
I was only joking guys, I suspect that some of cards they have introduced have given then a bit of a design hangover and they are still trying to figure out how to best balance them.
I have a feeling that I'm not he only one who is constantly checking if the new FAQ is out yet, but I'm feeling really anxious about it. I think it is taking so long because they are looking at some big changes, either to how certain things work in the game or to the core rules. Don't ask me for which specific ones, but I think we all have an opinion based on the discussion and climate on these very boards. I feel like this could be a tipping/turning point for the game and that is what is taking so long.
I'm just tired of waiting and want there to be news soon. I keep thinking, "It will be out tomorrow, or Friday, because Friday is Armada news day." But we keep on waiting...and waiting....and waiting.
If it doesn't come tomorrow, at least there will most likely be another Game of Thrones card game article, because we haven't had one of those in a while....
I don't think they're looking at big changes.
I'm expecting the delay to be because its one overworked guy giving his priority elsewhere.
