Days Since We Last Had To Make Up Rules As We Went Along: 0

I suggest that the first things that people start looking for and discussing whenever a new wave comes out, are all the discrepancies in the wordings ASAP. ffg devs do come out to check on the thread that is discussing the new wave right after articles come out, so maybe that will catch their attention. :P

Or maybe spam that new wave thread IMMEDIATELY with sounding out all the issues from the previous waves, with shouts of "FFG, FFG, LOOKIE HERE THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR YOU" before we actually start to move on and discuss the wave in detail on page 3 or 4 of the thread onwards.?

Or bump this thread up consistently with the new wave thread, all the community bumps this thread for every 2-3 comments in the new wave thread, so they are up on the top together.

I compiled such a list, along with my interim rulings, in late january for our Regionals, and emailed it to Monsieur Gernes.

We virtually always start calling out these issues as soon as they're recognized.

This thread has been back on the front page for weeks.

I dug my freaking Twitter account out of the back of a dusty closet to tweet at FFG about it.

I don't know what more we can do. They definitely know this an issue.

... right...?

Right.

Or maybe not, who knows.

I'm still waiting on a response to my Dear FFG letter, and substantively I feel like that would be easier to respond to, if not as high priority.

Someone tried to organise things in the Rules-Sub forum, so you could see the most contentious issues easily and in one place.

They got abuse for their time and effort.

That was me! :D

And that was after Ard had done his work before the wave 3/4 release. My list was the problems mainly associated with wave 3/4.

Close now.

I say we ban all upgrade cards and run vanilla ships as a protest. Maybe my losing streak will end then. LOL

Mr. Gernes is on fire today...4 e-mails total, all cc-related.

I'm getting my hopes up now. We're thinking of starting a new campaign and it would be great to have all the errata/FAQ material before we begin.

5 replies and counting...

It makes me nervous when 1 reply says "this will be addressed by the upcoming FAQ" but the other 4 don't say that.

Hopefully not a negative inference after all.

Only 4 months to wait now, I can almost taste it

That's not FAQ you're tasting.

Filthy.

I hope it is not. It would mean we have to wait even 6 more month for the FAQ in Germany :D

Speaking of on the boat.

I'm not up to date on my timelines but shouldn't W6 be at the printer in order to hit q2?

End of June for Release (Q2)
- 2 Weeks Delivery.
= June 14
-6-8 Weeks "On the Boat"
= May 1 to April 14

So yeah, it doesn't have to be on the boat for another Month, even assuming 8 Weeks on the Boat.

Asmodee has been adamant that things are improving on the time-to-targets since their takeover. Really, this is a big test for them, being a significantly smaller wave than previousl.

I understand all that but I feel like things have spent significantly longer then 4-5 weeks at the printer previously

We have to assume that their own timelines are fairly short with it, simply because of the Announce vs Release time.

I mean, they expect Sub-4Month Turnarounds to Delivery, if they truly expect Q2... Because it was Mid-Giddamn-March when they announced this.

8 Weeks puts 2 Months on the Boat as it is. So perhaps they assume closer to the 4, which would be 1 month... That gives 1 month development, 1 month printing, and 1 month boating, and 2 weeks to Stores....

That's a tight-ass timeline.

But that was part of what they were talking about with Destiny and the Release Debacle there... They are going out of their way to basically say, "If we can't deliver it, we're not going to say we can deliver it."

That was part of their Talks re: Asmodee/FFG at GAMA just passed that I was able to watch. So, as I said. This'll be an in-confidence test for them, basically - and the decidedly short timeframe is a reason why its only 2 ships.

Also, Asmodee invested a bunch of money into x2 and x3 the size of the Factory that they were using to produce things - which may be where all destiny production is going, freeing up more lines for use of production on other games.
