Days Since We Last Had To Make Up Rules As We Went Along: 0

By Ardaedhel, in Star Wars: Armada

Every day I get my hopes up.

Every day you dash them to the ground.

Thanks a lot, @Worthington FFG III.

I'm sorry to say, You're in an Abusive Relationship, mate...

St Patrick will save us!

Maybe they're working on a new rule book? This would tidy up some of the rules, lets face it some of the rules are getting a bit convoluted.

I could get behind this. There are certainly improvements that could be made.

If this is the reason for this long-ass delay, I shall eat crow.

OM NOM NOM DELICIOUS CROW.

Good things are worth waiting for, young man. Consider this a lesson in patience, the very patience that you will need to be able to deploy on the tabletop in our fine games to have success against your foes, and the same patience you will need to be successful at life and business!

The FAQ will arrive precisely when it is intended to arrive. Not a moment too soon, and not a moment too late.

I'd be quite happy with a "rulebook 1.5" designed to iron out issues with the core game mechanics. If they could radically redesign the squadron activation mechanics to move faster I'd be very pleased.

I'd just as soon just get an iteration of the rules with all the FAQ and erratas incorporated, and possibly a few of the other points of clarification integrated ("attack/attack" differentiation, "activation/activation" differentiation, attack resolution order all in one place, that sort of thing). I'm pretty happy with most of the rules as-is, and those few that I have objections about would require massive redesign to fix, I think.

how would you make the squadron game faster?

Make killing squadrons much faster. If you made anti-squadron crits count for additional damage, and guys like Vader get an ADDITIONAL damage, you'd end up with viciously lethal squadron fights that would be completely over in 1-2 turns. It would also make Escort and Intel far more important for squadron survival.

Tomorrow. Tomorrow we'll get the FAQ.

Maybe today!

I'm guessing...about 10 AM Central US time?

The part of me that loves armada desperately wants to see an FAQ today.

The part of me that loves messing with Ard sees no need to...well I guess hurry isn't the right word...ever do it.

I'd love to get an FAQ prior to Adepticon, but we've got just barely one week at this point prior to the first Armada event...

How to make the squadron game faster?

Practice. with. squadrons.

Stop taking ten minutes to figure out the best place to the millimeter to put a squadron base.

Forget the maneuvers, just go straight at 'em.

Agreed. I've played against people who take WAY too much time overthinking the squadron game. To the point where I'm thinking of using a timer next time.

Despair not, it's been 6 months and it's Friday. If this was a HP Lovecraft novel, I'd say Cthulhu would be right upon us because the stars are aligned.

Ok I totally whiffed on this but...

Hopefully we're...

Almost there...

I have a series of self help books based around this concept, such as "Put the f***ing fork down fatty, a guide to weight loss", "Stop being such a whiny little b****, the singular stage of grief" and "Overcoming Procrastination by Getting to F***ing Work Already"

Today is the day

Micheal Gerns had enough access to the computers to send Email responses to questions yesterday.
So maybe he didn't go?
