After the X-wing FAQ which pretty much S*****d every good card thats come out recently, i don't know if an FAQ for Armada is such a good thing

As a person who doesn't spend a ton of time in the rules sub forums, what are some of the biggest issues.

you would have to be blind not to know about rapid launch bays, but what else is there?

That depends - which of these do you consider "issues":

1) A Situation where there are two distinct readings of the rule due to the English Language being what it is, and both are equally plausable/playable?

2) A Situation where there are two distinct readings of therule, but one interpretation resolves more questions or conforms to precedences, where the other does not.

3) A Situation where there are two distinct readings of the rule, but one interpretation outright breaks the game or has potential issues with dealing with other rules now or in the future.

becausethere's very few 1), and lots of 2) and 3)......

Rapid Launch Bays is a 1) issue. And its an issue. We can't make judgements on the card until we know wether its fair or balanced. (And a lot of people have some pretty hefty opinions on the subject, either way.)

Snipe + Flight Controllers is another 1) issue. ('An' vs 'Their')

You could also add some Corellian Conflict arguments and issues in here as well, but I don't know if they'll be part of the core FAQ or wether there will be a separate Conflict FAQ (as they do not relate to Tournament Play).

In the Rules Sub-Forum, where there are a "core" group of people who get involved in most topics, you'll find that there are quite a few who will come to a common consensus - but there are always people who believe (or disbelieve), including one or two who do so deliberately when there's even a 3) issue - because they get a kick out of it or something...

And I freely admit, I'm not always right, and my decisions (especially of late) have been influenced by a sense of disillusionment.

But basically... The 1) issues are rare... The 2) and 3) issues are generally, sorted very quickly by community consensus (which is why they are harder to categorise for me - mostly because, basically, I figure them actually 'resolved').

Nah. I think they're just settling on a six month cycle for FAQs. Armada currently does not require a massive change. Wave 5 is frankly amazingly well balanced all things considered.

Answers to most of the basic FAQs since Wave 5 released should have been doable in an afternoon. Most of the testers I've talked to say that in the testing phase there weren't any major issues and they knew how the cards were supposed to be played, which indicates to me that there was some sort of guidance.

Something must be getting tested. Doesn't mean anything is coming, just that I think they must be testing something.

At this point I think they're testing a major rule change. It's the only explanation for such a long delay. The question is what element of the game it's about.

It's within the normal time frame it's not a delay at all!

For certain (ie, most) Definitions of "Balanced", yes. :D

But that doesn't excuse the fact that some things are patently unplayable without at least advice.

Oh I completely agree. That said, I think your World Cup FAQ is generally how things will pan out and is what forms the basis of my opinion.

The collective patience of the playerbase?

Be careful what you ask for. At least all the cards don't have their words change on them making them useless.

I don't think there's any "brokenly" OP stuff in Armada tbh... mostly stuff that actually need a buff.

I wasn't really talking about buffs or nerds. I was talking about Pen 7 Ink changes that completely rewrites how the card functions thus forcing you to carry around the FAQ to let everyone know that It Has Been Changed. It would be like Admiral Akbar only working at long range. Or Admiral Ozzel working on any command not just navigation.

Yet both of those examples are, in order, a Nerf, and a Buff. :)

Well xwing got one, and us being the whiny new kids, where the FAQ is ours?

In 10 days, the current FAQ will be 6 months old. At which point, I would expect a new one. Its been consistently updated every 6 months, with a specific exception of when there was a major release and it was delayed until April previously... But then it was updated in October that year as well, re-setting te 6 monthly status.

Of course, that just means its consistent, and renders the comment we had that they would endeavour to have a "Wave 5 and Correllian Conflict" FAQ out as quickly as possible as something that... Just didn't happen. For whatever reason.

You may consider it Deception, but I just blame the Bothans.

Stupid Bothans.

Does this mean many Bothans will die to bring us this FAQ?

Me every day since Wave 5's release:

That comic is funny every time.

Actually, I was quoting someone elses email Reply, that was up for all to see in the Rules Thread in regards to a Question that had been asked, and the answer given was basically "Wait, we're compiling" because it was sent in right after Release.

So no, it wasn't me at all. I'm just a mouthpiece here.

New product announcement before the FAQ for current stuff.

Bad form, FFG.

Get off my lawn, you kids!!
