Help! Imperial Tournament lists

By dada, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi guys,

I have doubt of which of these two list should I bring to a local tournament

1) Imperials: 99/100

Rac: Predator+RebelCaptive+PALP+PEU

Vader: VI+Title+ATC+EU

2) 99/100

Vader: VI+Title+ATC+EU

OL: Juke+Comm Relay

Yorr: SensorJammer+PALP+APL

I know there are pretty standard, but I was wondering wich is most suitable for the current meta.

Thanks a lot for your advice, and sorry for my english

In the first list I would change VI on Vader to Lone Wolf. He lives longer and hits harder with the rerolls. In the second list, I'm not sure Captain Yorr will be helpful with two ships that rarely take stress. You could drop APL and Senosr Jammer then switch to Colonel Jendon w/ title. Jendon's pilot ability supports both OL and Vader's ATC.

Thank you! I'll try Vader with Lone Wolf.

PS11 Vader with VI is a much better bet than Lone Wolf Vader with no initiative bid.

I would encourage you to follow your original instinct.

The initiative bid is a good point. I like my PS11 Vader with Accuracy Corrector so he doesn't have to choose between dice mod and repositioning.

I've been running Rule of Two for about 14 months now (Decimator with Palpatine alongside Pilot Vader) and I'm recently finding this build to be very effective:

Darth Vader (29)
Adaptability (0)
Advanced Targeting Computer (1)
Engine Upgrade (4)
TIE/x1 (0)
Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46)
Veteran Instincts (1)
Emperor Palpatine (8)
Rebel Captive (3)
Seismic Charges (2)
Engine Upgrade (4)
Dauntless (2)
Total: 100
The only thing I'm really undecided on is what type of bomb to use, Ion or Seismic. I used to fly RAC with Predator, but at some point I realized that if you're not using Gunner or Ysanne, then Predator isn't as good as VI + Dauntless, just because without Gunner you can't trigger Predator twice, and without Ysanne you don't really care about giving yourself a stress, so for that same three points, you can ensure that you always get your target lock whether you bump or not, but still have PS10, which can be devastating to Whisper or Soontir.
The Decimator lives and dies by its ability to arc dodge and intentionally bump, and thus is extremely reliant on pilot skill. It takes time to get good with the Decimator, but once you do it's probably one of the most underrated ships in the game.
Tough matches are TIE Swarms (only if flown expertly and in formation) and UUBus (it's a lot of raw HP for your two ships to chew through, and your Decimator hates the fact that they mostly shoot in any direction).
...god I love that list.
