I wouldn't buy two. We'll see it pop up in something else sooner rather than later.
Eh i doubt more than 2 will be required. So far every list ive been coming up with that involves 3 ships with techs (fos are the only ones cheap enough to bring more than 3, and theyre married to comm relay) the Primed Thrustors is actually the better card for the third ship.
If anything, buy 2 hotr for a 2nd primed thrustors. I do see reasons to take that twice over PA, though not many.
You also can't do your repositioning before your manoeuvre which limits the options a lot compared to AS, for where you can land up. Doing a BR>turn is a lot different from doing a turn>BR.Just to confirm: If you don't have repositioning capabilities, this ends up literally the same effect as Advanced Sensors but for a point cheaper, correct?
I ask because Advanced Sensors was pretty sweet even without the 'hypermobility' shenanigans it was capable of, so I worry this might almost be a little too shiny. Unless I've missed something, anyway.
Almost. You'll still lose actions on turns that you bump.
I think this one is a wash. While a boost before a K-Turn, T-Roll, or S-Sloop, puts your ship in a wider number of positions in terms of arc dodging, a boost after those maneuvers can be better for reengaging as it allows you to adjust your facing and get closer to whatever it is you want to shoot.
It makes comparatively little difference with boosting. It makes a lot more difference with BRing - sideways then fowards can be a LOT different than forwards then sideways WRT bumping, and sideways then turn is radically different from turn then sideways - one does a lot more lateral movement than the other, which does a lot more vertical movement.
So I've been ready to ditch regen Poe for insane arc dodging Poe (PS 9, PtL, BB-8, primed thrusters, autothrusters), but I'm realizing that I can have my (slightly smaller) cake and eat it too. With PtL, Pattern Analyzer and R5-P9 you can do almost the same thing. You lose BR and 3 actions a turn (and being able to arc dodge with stress or remove 2 target locks a turn with title) but you can still focus/boost (or TL) then clear the stress (or focus off a T-Roll) and regen.
Hmmm...I think I will have to run both configurations and see which I like better. If LRS bombers become a thing, getting rid of two target locks may be better.
Edited by FatherTurinPremove barrelroll is more powerful than premove boost.
A premove barrelroll lets you be reckless and long as you dont actually hit it you can end up VERY close to a rock while facing it, and still not hit it. Ive done this with a BB8 xwing to get a sneaky shot (while obstructed, shots a shot) and then BB8 away rather than hit the rock im like 1/8th an inch away from lol.
PA doesnt enable that. But, thats largely a choice to need that situation i find and it doesnt happen that often by happenstance.
A premove boost lets your 4k not get blocked as easily, as you need either a large ship in the right spot or two small ships to block me now.
Edited by Vineheart01It would only happen as you say if the ship would bump another ship inside the debris cloud. In that case, it would skip its Perform Action step because of overlapping another ship, but not because of the debris cloud itself.
Then barrel rolling batplane it is!
Being able to dart through a debris field and still get your action is pretty hilarious. I will so be abusing that with my SFs and T70s against the people that insist on bringing debris.
Cant clear the stress, since its applied outside of the relevant step, but its still tied to "after" that event, which is now after your action step. Win lol. Can even still PTL and clear the stress from PTL ending with only 1 stress lol
Just gotta avoid doing it twice in a row, since there'd be no way to clear stress then do action then get debris stress

Pattern Analyzer and Collision Detector on the same ship make Debris Fields pretty easy to ignore.
Yeah, thought bout that, but FCS is too good. PTL could somewhat counter that issue but i really, really want outmaneuver on my SFs...it procs so much out the aux arc lol
So I have a question that I did not see answered. I hope I did not miss it. So let's take a sip with red moves and ptl. If they do a red maneuver and then ptl for two actions; what would pattern analyzer do? Would it allow the red maniever and two actions and cost 2 stress? Or would the red maneuver cancel the option for ptl and only allow 1 stress?
