Heroic effort; Worth changing my list?

By biohunter21, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

So I know that Heroic effort is a good card; but I was wondering if u all think if it is worth that i change my list to include it? I was using all uniques and a alliance smuggler, but then couldn't decide if i wanted to take him out and use heroic effort. Do you all think it's worth the change? Thanks!

I don't think any all hero list is really that competitive, so at that point, just do whatever you want?

Smuggler is good to do objectives, and is probably more helpful than a card that requires your figures to die to be useful.

Giving us the whole list would make that easier.

Take out the Smuggler and put in Rebel High Command.

On that note, just one more question. Do Think I should use an elite smuggler or a regular one plus high command or smugglers run and on a diplomatic mission?

Not sure which would be more effective.....

Still need the whole list to give any kind of advice

I think some unique only lists could be competitive

short answer: No

long answer: I think it's extremely situational. A reasonably competitive list I could come up with:

Luke 10
Leia 8
Obi 7
Davith 6
C-3PO 2
R2-D2 3
Gideon 3
Balance of force/on a diplomatic mission/combat suit 1
Very good synergy with force users, with Leia giving extra attacks & recover by using the twin (Luke&Leia) strategy, C-3po & Gideon giving out focus like candies, but I think R2 is a sub-optimal choice in this list and I can't really find a <= 4-cost Rebel figure that's actually good (Looking at you Murne/Loku/Mak)

I say go for the eSmuggler, rSmuggler in our casual skirmish has consistently been one-shotted by Stormtroopers (reg or elite). We even had a game where my Rebel player tried to spam rSmuggler (4 of them), and 3 of them died in one round

Alright, Thanks for the input! Definitely something to think about......

Murne would be the only 4pt character I'd experiment with but I'm not sure she's great.

I like the normal smugglers though, I'm keen to run 2 of them in my next rebel list. Yeah they can get killed but I think the plan should be to not have them getting that close...

You underestimate the power of the Mon Calamari special forces :)

I guess I do to, the only thing I've ever got Loku to do is move, speed 5 is great, but his health is so poor, he seems to die to the sneeze even if he is several spaces away. I've never got him to do anything, Mak too. These guys need built in HIDE, I think it would improve their survivability and efficiency in shooting and actually causing damage.

Turn #1 Loku is focused. After that he ALWAYS stays behind a beefy character. His ability Set Your Sights is all you need to do. With a BR(G), he's got auto +7 accuracy at minimum...I'm not sure WHAT you can't hit/snipe off. Sure he doesn't do a TON of damage, but you're looking at about 3 damage at minimum before mod of +1 dmg or +1 pierce. This should EASILY be able to finish off that trooper with 1 or 2 health left. When he kills them, he'll gets refocused from Mon Cala Special Forces.

I think he's great. I agree the 4 hp isn't great for a 4 point figure, but he easily snipes away anything in the background. Through your figures and your opponents.

Mak is a Spy AND a very cheap activation. Keep him back. Use him for those little Spy Command Card shennenigans and activation economy. At that point, he's worth his points (e.g. in a list with Leia and Sabs).

IF you can manage to take ONE figure of the board with him AND use Critical Hit, he was MORE than worth his points! He has Priority Target and can be focused for that.

Loku has one trick up his sleeve, that can make him worth his points:

Loku uses Coordinated Attack on Leia, Leia can bring back one card. Leia attacks and brings back Coordinated Attack => repeated free attack for Leia.

Same with Gideon's Take it Down.

All these potential free attacks for Leia make her near indestructible, due to her Recover.
