Making the A-Wing Sing

Hey all!

It has been a while since I regularly played the game (see: post wave 3) and I was wondering how the releases since have impacted my favorite little kayaks. From what I've gathered by lurking these forums, it doesn't seem A's are considered particularly. That being said, I'm curious as to what upgrades and lists the community recommends to get the most out of the little buggers. Thanks in advance!

Thanks to the Chardaan Refit, you can squeeze 5 Green Squadron A-Wings in a 100 point list at PS4 with Adaptability and Crackshot and Autothrusters into a single list for some awesome, high-speed shenanigans.

They still lack any real punch and with new upgrades pilots like tycho are likely to die quite fast as slicer tools love stressed targets.

The internet likes the previously mentioned build of Adaptability, Crack Shot, and Autothrusters. Personally I love PtL, Juke, and Autothrusters on pairs of Green Squadron Pilots. Fly them together and focus/evade every turn.

To that end, the new black market slicer tools don't excite me.

Lots of good new upgrades. Rebel vets gave them opportunity for dual epts. Crack shot wired are very good.juke seems decent but is less good in my opinion. Autothrusters make them tough to kill. Adaptability is a 0 point boost to ps. Basically there's a lot of stuff out there now.

Are there any particular ships/pilots that tend to synergize well with any of the A's?

Prototypes synergize with having 15 points leftover

I know it is a little early but do you think there is any merit in either a Green w/ Chardaan, snapshot, title, and juke or proto w/ chardaan and snapshot as a blocker with a little extra oomph?

if protos could get an ept ala ps restricted title, but alas

and no, I don't rate juke very highly when it's action dependent (contrast with comm relay/x7 title)

Ah, right. Completely blanked on that. Any merit to Outmaneuver/Snapshot on Greens or does that get too costly for the likely benefit? (theorywing, of course, until it is proxied or played)

I've theory crafted a squadron along these lines. I like my Greenies to have two tokens though, so I ended up with the following.

Kyle with Moldy and Jyn give you the potential to put focus tokens on two different a-wings per turn. You could start fitting more expensive turrets on to the Crow if you drop autothrusters. I doubt it will be hyper competitive, but it could be a lot of fun.

Prototype with refit are my favorite littl.blockers. cheap, fast, boost, evade an option, etc.. they're great.

I think crackshot with snapshot has some real potential too, not sure.

They actually can and will push damage through against most rebel and scum lists, despite their 2 attack. The reason I find them to be not a great choice is.that against most imperial builds they pretty much can't do damage, ever.

Do you think that crackshot and proton rockets have any merit into Imps? Realizing it is a significant point investment but in the right circumstances that can pop a critical piece fairly easily.

I've never been very impressed with proto rocket a wings, alas. The 5 point swing in cost is painful, and it's not easy to use. In the right hands I'm sure it could be awesome. I tried it with various a wing aces, in particular a memorable psycho tycho, with various degrees of success. At that point value though, I think there are better options. It's sweet when you do get a good shot in though.
