Hey all, I just wanted to share my repaint and mod of my HWK. It's always bugged me how the wings were canted and looked kind of... Blah, so I had to do something about it. And I moved the turret forward.
I hope you like my flying brick!

Every time i see a beautiful paint job like this it makes me wish i was good at painting. Then i remember i don't care because painting is fun and i love my ugly little ships when I'm finished. Definitely love the paint job though.
Hey Majeure.
Great looking Hwk.
The red makes it really stand out, and yes your right.
I never understood why the engines had that slight awkward angle.
both of my Hwk's have been completely modified due to the way it looks.
But yours does make it look better.
Well done and all the best,
Barry ![]()
I really like the color scheme and the chin turret looks great!
I had a hard time coming up with a paint scheme for this guy. Not entirely sure I'm satisfied with it. The engine glow fell short this time. Got to live with it for a while before I decide what to do.

Niccce. Is that magnets and lighting in the base?

Thanks! Magnets and lighting? Sorry, nothing cool like that. I had been trying out different things I have around the house that are slip resistant to put under my bases. Its a little neoprene (like the kind used in wet-suits) of which I asked for a sample from a company some time ago. This just happens to be the base I've been using while I paint or take pictures lately. The neoprene works well, but is cost prohibitive. Instead I plan to buy an extra wide yoga mat and cut it down to the standard-play size mat. That way both my opponent and I can benefit from less slippage. I'm constantly knocking things around with my guides or range rulers, and the asteroids tend to drift while I'm playing. ![]()
I like the color scheme. The black/red looks better than the factory scheme, in my opinion.
Here's a T-70 with a paint job loosely inspired by Miriya Sterling's red Veritech from the Robotech tv series from the mid 80's.

Decided to re-paint my Protectorate Starfighter. It looked too much like the A-Team van crossed with a cat wearing white booties.

Nice colour scheme! Simple, yet effective - the 'running lights' add that little something ![]()
Nice work and the color blocking on the T-70 really, really works for me. The T-70 really seems to beg for a Macross paint job doesn't it?
Edited by MtnWookHere's a simple paint job for the X T-70 that I quite enjoy:

Nicely done! The grey/yellow looks awesome. I haven't painted my T70s yet. I can't decide if I want to do them in the same scheme as my Rebellion era ships, or do a separate Resistance them.
Haven't painted in a couple of weeks (kids' birthday parties & Halloween, etc.) but here's my other Protectorate Starfighter and an E-wing mod that needs some fresh paint.

Don't mind the excess glue...

Nice take on the Protectorate fighter. Thankfully, Scum ships are way down the wishlist so I don't have to figure this out for a while...I know I'll probably do a Mandalorian squadron with some Fangs and a Firespray, but as far as scheme goes, I have no idea.
Cool conversion on the E-wing. I know people hate the ships, but I have always liked them ever since I read about them in the old Legends novels. FFG went a little chunkier with the design than I pictured it in my head, but it has grown on me. Bringing the engines in, like you've done, makes it feel more like a next-gen X-wing, which is what they were designed to be!

Agreed. The ship is a little pricey, points-wise, but it can do well when flown right.
What are you thinking of for a scheme ? Have to admit, think the E has to be one of the blandest ships there is - mods can go some way to pep it up, but a good paintjob still has to do some serious lifting!
Umm... I'm not sure just yet. I like the Gray/White/Yellow/Red on my T-70, so I might just go with something like that to keep it looking like it belongs in the same squad.
Oftentimes I have a plan, but it goes out the window after I've laid down the first color. My muse/inspiration is kind of erratic some times.
Edited by Force MajeureMy only recommendation is no more Twilek pinup girls! Apparently that's all that race is good for! Haha.
That last protectorate paint scheme is very nice. The E-Wing mod is neat as well, however I'm a fan of shaving the nose down as some have done in the past, myself included, because it just looks a little too much like a....you know =p. Looking forward to seeing it painted.

Think it may be a PhotoBucket problem, as some of mine have gone, too...hopefully be sorted soon ![]()
EDIT: Yeah, "Down for maintenance" ![]()

I'm tempted to whip out my purple and pink paint. Maybe that was a poor choice of words. ![]()

I use Photobucket to host my pics & it has been a little... inconsistent lately. I'm
too.
Give it an hour.
In case Photobucket implodes, what do you guys use? Always good to have a backup plan.
Edited by Force MajeureYeah, the Photobucket tribulations continue so I moved over to Imgur today. There is far less spam and the buckets outages are getting increasingly frustrating.
Now you have to post your Purple and Pink, hehehehe. ![]()
