What you think??? Does this just melt versus squads???

Well, I know Dras will be here saying that the power of red dice is to come up blanks, but yes, this list will probably be steamrolled by a heavy bomber, heck, even a light bomber list. Definitely needs at least a token screen, if nothing more than Vader, Mauler, and Dengar, with Fel to taste.

If only you knew the power of red dice.... you wouldnt need Demo.

We could put in 4 aggressors and 2 interceptors... or gasp, yv666's

Plus demo has red dice!!!

Red dice have two advantages

1. Distance

2. hit+hit

that's about it.

they have a higher miss chance without effect vs the other dice

and there are a lot of counters to them.

in truth there aren't that many red boost and most are cost prohibitive

overall red dice are flash in the pan dice that are nice to have but not worth building for.

Red dice start wars black dice end them. Gladiators and mc30s rule.......

Only slightly higher miss chance (3/8) on red dice (if you count ACC as a 'miss') than black (2/8) and blue (2/8 - counting ACC as a 'miss'). Expected damage value for red dice as it is for blue dice (.75) vs 1.0 for black.

Red dice are no worse than blue dice, and only slightly behind black dice for damage.

I don't think that's enough red dice. Granted, VSDs have a lot on their front arc but that's not nearly enough, especially if you plan to build your fleet around them. VSDs are way too slow and front-focused for that. MC80s and Mc30s, especially with TRC and Ackbar are far stronger in that. Once the enemy maneuvers out from your front arc, you're done for.

Not to mention that you have no fighter screen so even TIEs may be concerning against this fleet. And if the opponent comes with A-wings + 1 hero, you're in biiig trouble.

Vader will really help those red dice have a much better chance of producing results though. It could work, but you'll need to destroy their main carrier in a single turn if you can - and that can be tricky

I recently ran a similar build (opting for Interdictor with some TIE/Int instead of Demolisher) and it is pretty solid. 5 rerollable reds per VSD is a lot. My main issue was a lack of speed.

While Vader is one of my favorite squads and I always recommend him, he can't pilot his tie advanced in this fleet as he is already commanding from the bridge

You sure this is viable?

Anything Yavaris + Bees/Scurrgs?

Anything Rhymery?

Cracken?

And that is before we discuss the speed/defensive shortcomings of the VSD.

Not entirely sold because of that, but it's otherwise solid, and could be fun to play against no doubt.
