I have just opened my TIE/sf and TAP.
With each of these there was a small token with the silhouette of the ship.

Does anyone know if these are for an in-game effect?

They are for the plastic dial upgrade kits you can buy. They allow you to denote which dial is fr which ship

They are tokens to identify the Dial Upgrade Kits.
