So this idea popped in my head, and while I know it's a longshot posting it here, I have to get it out of my system.

So you guys know about those cool two-player playmats they released for LCG's like Star Wars, Android Netrunner, A Game of Thrones 2nd Ed. and Warhammer Conquest? I really dig the quality of those. They're pretty big and you can easily roll them up and take them with you.

Wouldn't it be neat if they made one of those for the Star Wars RPG? They could just print the big galaxy map they included in the core books, or the one from the TFA Beginner Game, on a mat that size. That way, you always have a galaxy map at the ready! And if they maybe add 2 boxes for Light Side and Dark Side Destiny Points, I mean... do want, right?

All I'm saying is, I got some money ready to be thrown at that. (Just wishing out loud here.)

Have you tried a local printshop? You'll have to provide the graphics, but if that's a problem most printshops will have a graphic designer on staff that can help you out. That being said, going that route is likely to cost you a little more but you can have it made to your specifications.

I like FFG products as much as the next guy but small businesses need love, too.

problem there is the way the map is in the CRBs. You would have to adjust for the central crease. The episode 7 beginner one should work though.

You’ve still got a crease to deal with, but it is going to be easier to deal with that crease than if you had tried to use the map in the CRB.

I think this is a really good idea too!

I have scanned and photoshopped the heck out of the Galaxy map, and have a great high-res version on my computer. I added all the canonical places like D'Qar, Jakku, Chandrila etc.... Took out some obsolete EU regions from the one in EotE Core book. Unfortunately I think I would be in major trouble if I shared it.

I'm not a lawyer, but I believe you'd be in trouble if you sold it, or gave it to someone for the purposes of making money. If you took to a printer for your own personal use, I don't think there'd be an issue. My understanding of copyright law isn't the greatest, so take it with a grain of salt.

In part, it could depend on the markings (for example, is the Star Wars logo anywhere), and the person manning the print counter at the time. I've made some custom DVD covers and had places reluctant to print.

That can actually arranged with most good print shop. Just pick your galaxy map of choice.

And you can even fit it the the size format of your table that way.

Oh, I have no problems printing it for myself! I am just not going to share it publicly online - because I believe that would be frowned upon.
