A number of times I've heard/seen the designers speak about caution with fixes, due to how they could til the balance with certain named pilots but what if fixes had the pilot excluded right now on the card.

X-Wing fix that Biggs cannot take

Starviper and E-Wing titles for generics

(just off the top of my head examples)

I'm sure people may have proposed this but what could the drawbacks be? it seems to open a huge door for potential for possibilities.

...or let the X-wing criers get a buff and then add a mod targeting card that allows you to target lock any ship on the board when using that action, or whatever; choose to un-Biggs Biggs.

Biggs does not need to be taken down a notch. Stop whining like a baby Clanofwolves.

What FFG has done in the past and most likely will continue to do is simply create a card or series of cards that help certain types of ships.

They may exclude by ship type, faction, and maybe even PS but I would never want to see something that goes so far as naming specific pilots who could, or could not, use some upgrade.

just don't give the X anything to augment its defenses in the case of Biggs, easy

it shouldn't be too difficult to design new upgrades around problem pilots
