If you could play Paul Heaver what would you bring?

By TheycamefromBEHIND, in X-Wing

Why treat the game any different than any other?

Miranda Triple-X.

My second list in the hanger would be two shots of whiskey... For after.

In my case it's not hypothetical as we basically played a mirror match of Corran+Wes+Biggs at GenCon this year. I was spazzing out after seeing the pairings posted, but he was great to play against. I got stupidly lucky(our Corrans ended up face to face at range 1 to double tap each other, he'd given me initiative and I blinded pilot'd his in the process of killing him), so I guess in a rematch I bring some sort of lucky charm to have that happen again? More seriously, assuming it was going to be against the same list again I guess some sort of x7 defenders list; I at least haven't figured out how to deal with them yet with the Corran+Wes+Biggs build, rather than hoping you get lucky during the initial pass, though I'm sure he probably has, I just haven't been playing enough.

That collection of bikers looks a bit threatening...

Anyhow,

Something to drink and eat; This is going to be a casual match after all and casual goes better with food and drinks.

Then I bring two 60 point squads to play on a 2 ft by 2 ft playing field with the largest rock in the middle and 1 in each corner.

Something like;

2x Sabre Squadron Pilots (21) with Determination (1) and Autothrusters (2)

1x Academy Pilot (12)

vs

2x Tansarii Point Veterans (17) with Determination (1), Heavy Scyck (2), Mangler Cannon (4)

1x Binayre Pirate (12)

These 60 point games go fast and are easy to set up so two games must be possible.

I would suggest the same if you ask me the same question about any regional/national/world champion or one of the designers.

Or just one of you guys ;)

A handful of the cards he's designed for signing. And my best list (something imperial of course) hoping he has his best list (something rebel I'm guessing). We have a great match while he crushes me!

I'm suprised no one has suggested the roncon special or nonroncon special :P

An Imperial Assault list. It's my only hope.

..well last time we played, I flew mirandash...but that was a year ago...

I would bring 2 beers.

I would bring 2 x 300 point lists and when he is not looking, slip him some glitterstim (JK on the glitterstim but not the 300 point list).

I think he mentions you in the Nova Squadron Podcast.

4x contracted scouts

5x jaraxxus

that or bring Mark Hamel and billy de Williams along to ask him a bunch of question at the table.

Mark Hamel?

We don't talk about Luke Lars.

I would bring two lists, each consisting of one 40pt Decimator and a 60pt bid. Then, I leave the game up to the dice gods. I mean, why introduce pilot skill? For sure he's a better player.

If I win that coin flip of a match, I proceed to tell people that I crushed 3 time world champ Paul Heaver in a game where he only scored 20 points on me and that I tabled him.

Good times.

If you could play Paul Heaver what would you bring?

A katana.

Mindlinked Scyks. Khiraxzes.

See what he does with them while being totally crushed. Learn from it.

Forget your rules, I'd bring 26 angry bearded bikers who specialise in breaking other fella's fingers.

I've seen Paul play in videos and I'd have to go back and check but I'm pretty sure he has the standard ten fingers. Out of interest what are the other 16 bikers going to do and how you going to decide who gets in on the action.

I for one wouldn't want to deal with sixteen finger-breaking bikers all revved up with no fingers to break

1. Liquor.

2. A notebook.

I'd bring my lucky lightsaber, double fang/kath, and Backdraft/Maarek/Zeta Leader

Xwing Jesus would turn my Ties into Aces and my X-wings into whine.

A camera, cause nobody would believe it!

B&C Bro-Bots (both lists)

...any of the usual builds but with tractor beams.

I think I could learn from him and it would be fun BUT I think this is the only chance I would have at winning. ;)

1: RonCon

2: NonRonCon

A towel for my tears
