I would appreciate some help from the more optimisation players out there. Currently we are upon the last mission on our adventure and I have a Jawa Outlaw Mechanic/Splicer (who is obsessed with droids), whom is very poor at combat. The ST as a bonus gave us a 20k credit chip each, and my party mates are outfitting themselves out with Cyber limbs, Power armour, chain axes and things of a similar note. Now to be true to character I would like to invest in some droids, and sup them up with modifications and attachments.

I would appreciate any help people can provide as I would like to not be left behind.

I think your best bet to be honest is the Special Modifications career book which contains a load of crafting rules including droid mods if what I've heard about it is accurate (ordered it, haven't got it just yet).

Yes I second about getting the Special Modification book if you don't already have it. I would suggest that your Java becomes a Droid tech. He would have a lot of fun.

Now about the droids. You could go into two different directions. First you could put all your cash into 1 assassin droid and trick it out with weapons and armor. Secondly (which I suggest) you could go for a minion group combat/shield droids or mechanical/medical helper droids.

I will look at the driod tech but only have 20xp left so don't have enough to buy a new pathway for the final game.

I was wondering about getting two antiquated battle droids and just spending 3k moding attachments for their weapons and armour.

Will chase down that book but I might not get it in time.

Hopefully you can find the book. It has a great section on building droids.

even funnier is it is 2 purple for a minion droid + 300 credits. But you then have to program it. Programs are free with no downside to wiping and starting again. With a week and a 5 purple check you can program that crappy minion into an assassination droid. this gives it nice skills and 2 ranks of adversary.
