New Expansion?

By David Spangler, in A Game of Thrones: The Board Game (1st Edition)

I may be wrong, but I seem to remember hearing there was another expansion being planned for this game. Has anyone else heard that? The person who told me might have been confusing it with the Storm of Swords expansion, but I think he said he'd heard a third expansion was being planned.

There was a user made expansion that took it up to a 9 player called A Feast for Crows , but I don't think that there is an official expansion in the works.

I think you can find the user made expansion on boardgamegeek.

Ah, that must of been what I heard about. Thanks.

It is a great expansion but you have to spend some money:

Print all the pages, buy a second A Game of Thrones and ideally a second Clash of Kings (to be still able to play with less people).

There's also a fan-made 6-player ASOS...

well if you look at A Song of Ice and Fire: The Adventure Game it was first shown at Gencon 2008 where it was available for public playtesting. It was in unpublished prototype form at that time, and its publisher is FF :) ooo it looks good check out the link :) It may not ness be an expansion but it sure is based on the same writers books.

Almost been a year since this question was asked. But since then, AGoT has been garnering alot more followers. Any news or rumors about expansions for this game? Especially with the HBO pilot and Dance coming out 2010...seems like an expansion would put this game back on the radar.

There might be a new SoIaF game but I doubt there'll be more expansions since this game is based more along the start of the war and the farther you read the less open-ended this game would become. People have considered a board for the continent Dany's on but that be tough to integrate w/ the base game and FFG doesn't do games that require at least 5 players.

With Dance though I could see a separate game focused on the Wall w/ Nightswatch, Wildlings, Others, and possibly Baratheon, Bolton, and remnants of Stark kicking around. But base game, not a chance unless we get another Storm and that's a separate game that uses the same pieces.

9 players is for amateurs... :)

I'm preparing my 18-player game. I'm making mountable metal board for the wall and magnetic armies... Well that is if I got any time :D

If You happen to have a larger crowd who plays AGoT, try 9-player variant. You can use whatever to symbolize the armies. We used some plastic knights... There are 3 dragons in Blue moon city that are perfect with Targaryens. The emotions that go with that game are not easy to explain... With so many players the alliances may fall apart even faster... That is when You play with the right people... But auctions are fantastic anyway :)

With the new show coming out the base game will go out of print quickly and it would be silly not to make an expansion for it. its like free money.

Unless its a bad/unnecessary expansion in which case ffg's rep will take a beating and could hold back non-gamers from looking at what else ffg has to offer.
