Does anyone know of any decent programs for utilizing sound effects during a game? Something kind of like Syrinscape but preferably free and that I can add my own sounds to?
Atmospheric Music/Sound Effects/Sound Boards
http://tabletopaudio.com is my preferable choice
But you need a working internet connection (Or you download it with a few hacks)
I use syrinscape, if you don't mind paying a few bucks for a sound package. So far it's worked pretty well for me.
I really like syrinscape. Well worth the $$
But also, instead of sound boards is there a place that has star wars sound files that you can download? I used to have a huge collection of star wars production quality SFX (no background or music) on one of my old computers
Last I checked, StarWars.com actually had a great soundboard on their website.
I imagine you could download those various sound files and use them locally, if you wanted.
The Star Wars App by Disney has some sound effects, I have it for Android, (not sure if its iOS as well). It has kind of a basic sound board, I wish it had more sound effects, but its handy in a pinch.
Fanburst.com
Edited by verdantsfI may be the odd one out here but I just look for what I want on Youtube and put it on loop, sure it's a lot of tabs to set up but hey it's free. I'm not too big into sound effects but ambience and music I always try to keep fresh

This site looks pretty **** amazing. Will be figuring out how to download that stuff ASAP

I like Syrinscape but it is too pricey. I was also hoping to find something free and that would let me use my own sound effects.
I have a specific plan in mind; my group will come across their first lightsaber wielding foe soon enough. I thought it would be much more dramatic to use sound effects for when he ignites his blade rather than just saying it
I also want to work with some ambient sound to really reinforce the setting.
I use the one from starwars.com - http://www.starwars.com/games-apps/star-wars-soundboard
It can be a bit fiddly at times, but they have a decent variety of sound effects and lines. If I've got an idea in my head ahead of time, it tends to work quite well (e.g. pulling up the R2-D2 page for when the PCs were tracking down an astromech).
Just for future reference, if anyone else is looking for this sort of thing I found a great app for handling sounds and music for a game. You can fill it with your own music and sounds. Create different scenes that can be triggered easily. Once you get past the clunky interface it works fantastically. After about half an hour of downloading sound effect clips and mixing and matching and building up scenes and events on the app I have the perfect soundboard for my campaign able to add atmosphere from everything to cantina brawls to space dogfights

(Dont pay attention to the negative reviews, most of them are complaining about the fact that the app doesn't come pre-loaded with music, but that is the very reason why I like it )
Anybody know a tool in which you can play the sounds to persons playing remotely? With Roll20’s loss of access to Soundcloud, been looking for a good replacement.
