Turrets aren't big NOW, but tey may see a comeback wiht uboats gone
Yep. I expect the Millenium Falcon will be large on our tables very soon and TLTs are always a thing. But stealth device I use every game and if I stay at range 1 of turrets, 5 dice is usually enough.
My thought is that maybe stealth could be an equally viable option on Fenn because of his ability, but auto thrusters is probably best on the others.
NO... these ships are supposed to get IN ARC and at Range 1 if at all possible. You do not play safe with these little monsters. Dive in and kill as much as you can in two turns.

In my experience, it kills almost nothing before it dies. Fenn dives into range 1.... and promptly gets one-shot before he even kills anything.
I know nobody wants to hear it, and i hate it too, but if you're going to COMPETITIVELY USE A FANG, you NEED to fly it like an Interceptor. Just like everything else in this game, you gotta fly it like you don't want to lose it. Because when you say "Screw it, i don't care if it dies!", you better hope you really mean that. Cause usually when you say that, something you own is about to die.
It's just that it's a good thing that not all X-Wing is competitive.
Edited by Razgriz25thinfFenn with Stealth and a focus can run into an enemy ship with a Focus and a TL and 4 red dice at range 1 and have a 77% chance of not taking a single damage. Odds go up to 88% if the enemy only has a focus or a TL. If you aren't locked, you can pretty much run into the enemy's guns and they would be lucky to touch you at all. The odds of getting one-shotted are tiny (about 1 in 1200). Yes I've had it happen but it's really rare. Meanwhile you're putting 5 dice modified into them.
Edited by The InquisitorI've been wrecking locally with Fenn, PartyBossk and 2 Z's.
In my set up, Fenn has Title AT and Push. Yes I've set him up like an interceptor. Doesn't mean I fly him like one though. Push and AT keep him alive and in favourable positions while I bide my time, at which point he goes full on raging monster at R1 with both TL and Focus.
He rolls up 5 hit volleys a couple times a game and can GTFO of most bad situations. Let's me be really unpredictable. Am I running again or is this the turn I come in and lay on some pain. Ive only lost Fenn once so far, in two games he has been completely unharmed - and that is purely because of AT saving damage either at R3 or against turrets. It's the most reliable mitigation for him in my opinion.

Lol, you spend a Proton Torp over 2 hulls? Fine to me
go on.
Against Fel with Palpatine, I'd use a Proton Torpedo it if he had a single hull remaining. I've lost count of how many Proton Torpedoes I've fired at him that end up doing no damage even though I've got nothing but hit and crit results.
Most people would not even bother to fire a proton at fel if he has his token stack, autothruster and palpatine ready. Not worth to waste a perfectly good torpedo just to get zero hits. ^-^
