My plan is to be playing it by Christmas. FFGs plan, otoh...
Your Corellian Conflict Plans?
At this point, perhaps you need to switch away from the doctrines of Governor Tarkin, and perhaps embrace a little Admiral Tolwyn?
This was the most beautiful crossover-line I've read today ![]()
Indeed, the Hirschau sector has been quiet of late, thanks to the efforts of Blood Squadron. Perhaps too quiet......It's obvious that he patrols an area that has so much loyalty to Emperor and Empire that no one would dream about nihilism and insurrection against the legitimate order of the galaxy. - unlike your frozen plains, where the AT-ATs shall soon be making landfall and overrunning your position. That Defeatist attitude is why the Empire loses in the end!I'm going to add the objectives and squadrons to my arsenal, and then put the campaign bits back in the box and shelve it, were it will likely gather dust forever.
No one here to play the campaign with, really.
Sounds like it's time to send out the Probe Droids.
There's discussion here that the each of the games would have to involve all of the players (2v2 etc) and the difficulty of getting all those players together. I'd assumed that the players would be split into two teams and that any of the rebels could play a game against any of the imperials. That seems the most logical to me, that each of the players' forces could strike against the other players, accruing benefits for themselves and their team.
If the last game really is a 2000 point game then I expect that will be all v all but not for the regular campaign games.
I would think that you might not actually need people all in one place to do the campaign aspect of it; you could communicate the things that would need to be communicated online, and then have that determine which games of Armada need to be played at a time and location convenient for the individual players involved.
But I could be mistaken.
Depends. We have 3 regulars at Rainy Day Games which can make things tricky on league night. The box says 2-6 players so if it allows an odd number then this could solve our problem. If not though then I don't know what we'll do.
We'll probably play the narrative out with my group and film it as part of the Master of The Fleet series

If things look too problematic, I might be convinced to roar out there on every-other Tuesday. I have a motorcycle now, so I'm a little more mobile than I have been.
Convince me that Rainy Day is a better option than Dice Age for my Armada fix. ![]()

Well we did have a special 800 point event for the Wave Thour release. And the store supports us no matter how few people show up. The other two guys are great opponents who are just plain fun to play against. Everyone takes losses in stride. And rather than trying to cross the Columbia River, you'll have plenty of side streets you can take on your way across town!
Im seeing it as a great opportunity to get people who would not otherwise play Armada to play Armada. I will end up getting a minimum of 2 copies. Minimum. I work in the industry now and an employee discount goes a long way to adding to my mountain of prack.
Why would you buy two? As far as I can tell there will be no ships and not too many upgrade cards in it. And why would you play two campaigns simultaneously? O.o

Because I run a league, and if its billed to accommodate 6 players, with more than 6 players in my league who want to play, how is it fair to not do so, and tell people "No, Sorry. You can't play."
Just before they put out The Corellian Conflict Campaign, I was about to look something with Star Wars Rebellion.
Using the map and the vessel's to represent fleet. The problem was to make the system work for the fleet point (to keep balance).
I'm really impatient to know how it will work.
FFG release something soon please, we need more informations
I did get SW:Rebellion, and played it today, in fact. I do like the game very much, and I was thinking about stealing elements from it in order to organize an Armada or integrated (Armada, X-Wing, and Imperial Assault) campaign. On its own, it doesn't really make for a very good campaign engine.
Of course, those plans were dashed when they announced Corellian Conflict. That is, until I see what Corellian Conflict is, and how I can have it (possibly) provide the bones for an integrated campaign.
Ah,... dreams...
My plan is to read the rules as soon as they are released and determine the best way to preserve the map for multiple plays. Right now the plan is to use magnets for the stickers to be placed on the map, and for the map I plan on either mounting the original board onto sheet metal to make it magnetically receptive or print a new map and adhere it to something magnetically receptive (FlexSteel, metal, whatever). Or, I may just write an app to maintain a campaign, but that's a lot more work than physical alterations and I prefer disconnecting from digital stuffs when I play boardgames.
I'll probably have 2 campaigns going at once? One with our local crew, and hopefully the system account for players not being able to show up every week. I'll probably also play it 1v1 with a local bud.
I hear you on disconnecting. However, I do think that having digital backing up will be a very good thing.
Unless they put out a great digital image of the map (which would be great, but I doubt they'll do it), I'll be creating a digital version of it (which I'll be happy to share). I will post that on my gaming website (concentratedfirepower.com [/shameless plug]) in order to help keep people aware of the state of the game between rounds. A map and then tables that record the fleet information, campaign points, available resources, as well as any other 'open information' pertaining to the campaign.
Now, I have absolutely no knowledge of how to write apps. All of this would be accessible on a web browser. Do you have app-writing skills?
My plan is to murder Major Rhymer. Forever.
I will conqueror this campaign in the name of Thrawn!
We are in the region of 20 players in Denmark, who is interested in played the CC campaign.
(And one person who is not interested because he claims to be a boring Wookiee
)
I plan to play a list, with as few Uniques as possible.
(1x Fleet commander, 1x Ace and maybe 1x title or officer)
And in friendly games I play currently, I'm trying to do this as well, to get a feel for what happens when you don't have your usual unique upgrades.
Do to loss or because one of your team mates snatched up the unique you wanted to use before you.
It looks like my FLGS group has a target day-of-the-week schedule for the Corellian Conflict. Hopefuly the release date isn't too far out, or The Boat doesn't turn around.

Yes, this thread is a week old and has been relegated to page 2 of the thread list - yes, Page 2!! For shame!
Anyway, the campaign expansion has been on The Boat for four weeks now. Since I have fairly little faith in The Boat to take less than 6 weeks, it means that we really should not count on having this box in our hands significantly long before new year.
I have a notion of heralding the campaign by having an all-game Star Wars minis event the weekend before we start the campaign. It would be something that encourages (integrates?) a number of games - Armada, X-Wing, and Imperial Assault (Rebellion? Destiny??). Also, my FLGS has a big fat galactic map on the wall, with stickers that show the results of some of the past games.
I'm wondering what sort of structure to give that event, and how to (narratively) connect it to the campaign, without burdening the campaign with initial conditions.
Any ideas?

Battle of Endor? Armada for the fleet battle, X-wing for the destroying of the death star II, and Imperial Assualt for taking down the shield protecting the death star.

Some folks in my area did something similar for the Battle of Hoth. Regrettably, it was on a Wife Day* for me, and so I couldn't participate.
My problem with Endor specifically is that I want it to kick off the campaign, rather than be a finale. Yes, I know that I could contrive it as the beginning of the end for the Empire, ... but, no.
But, yeah, you have the basic idea of what I think would be fun.
*Wife Day is kind of like Life Day, but more frequent, and feels longer.

Then how about a Battle of Yavin + post? Start with X-wing doing the actual death star battle, then Imperial Assault with the Imperials attacking the base after the death star was destroyed, and finally Armada where the Rebels are trying to flee and the Empire is trying to get rid of the rebel scum for blowing up such a large amount of tax dollars. That way you can continue the campaign down the road and you are following the film and a little bit of the second Rogue Squadron game.
I like the idea of this. Multiple games and over time you lose your named ships for the rest of the conflict. Makes really pulling back or making new lists for each game. Rhymer killed off, can't use him rest of the conflict. Ouch, but does make for some fun games later on when you save some ships or admirals or have a minimal list going on.
