Need Help Creating a List

By Johnnygamealot, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I usually never fly the same build twice. There are just so many fun options to play with and playing once a week for a tourney, I like to change it up a lot.

I'm mainly an Imperial player, but will also play Scum - I have nothing of Rebels besides access to all the cards.

Here is the thing. I suck at this game. I have hundreds of games under my belt, I enjoy every second of it, but I lose almost every game i play.

I know if I play the same build repeatedly I would become really good at the build and could fly my way to victory, but i find that boring.

What has been played in my area is TLTs, 3 Space Whales, Ketsu/Fenn, Ghost with Ezra/Biggs, and TIE D/x7's.

Does anyone have a list that that would hold up against all of these situations, also is Imperial or Scum?

If you need more info, I will supply it. Thanks!

Sounds like you want some Brobots.

Use one with mangler to get crits in on those high hull low agi ships. You will have a double tap to strip x7 defenders. Speed to get range 1 of TLTs.

Any Specific Loadouts that are better with the release of wave 9?

I'm going to start toying with some lists. I'm a very aggressive player and my opponents know that, so the more damage I can do faster, the better!

This is me in a nutshell. You could be my twin. I call it list ADD. Its just my playstyle. In WoW I was an altoholic. I love the creation process. Plus, I know I will never be "top tier" so why put the time in over and over on one list.

If you come to a solution let me know. I too am primarily Imperial with a bit of scum. I keep telling myself as soon as the Wave IX dust settles I will stick to one list. But the HotR will come out. And then Wave X. Oh well, the elusive challenge coin will forever be out of my grasp.

Im more of an Asymmetrical guy. Prepare for everything.

Give this a try. B can double tap x7 defenders or any tokened up ace with ion cannon first to strip tokens (no ace wants to be ION'd!!!). With HLC, they have an option to decide to take a single damage (not use their focus token) so you cannot get a double tap. Defenders with 6 hp will do this. Not with ION cannon! They will use up every token. Shieldless small ships dont want an Ion or a Mangler. Guaranteed token stripping! Then HLC brobot can hit em hard. And next round is easy pickings. Crackshot when you need that Ion to go through or that crit from mangler.

Large ships, use HLC to strip shields, and Mangler bot to punch crits through. On things like a Party bus that use 4-Lom, well, a single Ion cannon hit screws them up and makes it easy for you to get behind them. "But its just a single damage!" No, Its much more. It controls the ships movement (cant block you), and you wont take damage from it the following turn. Versus Dengaroo, He only takes 1 or 2 damage a round anyways, so might as well be an Ion, then every other turn you know where his arc is gonna be and can sloop and shoot.

You dont get a double tap with HLC at range 1, so make range 1 a no fly zone area with fearlessness on Brobot D. Why Brobot D and not C? In close quarters, when slooping, etc. you dont get a chance to boost, and if you do, its usually to avoid arcs and runaway. You said you were aggressive and those hard 3 sloops give you options. "Oh, my 3 sloop is blocked, ok, I will hard 3 sloop!" And when facing the edge, hard 3 sloops are beautiful, where normal 3 sloops fly you off. Both bots hard 3 slooping creates gorgeous kill-boxes.

Most people go after Brobot B first to get rid of the double tap. Here, he is your smallest gun, since D has HLC. Gives your opponent choices to make. :)
