Soothsaying - Upsilon Shuttle

By xstormtrooperx, in X-Wing

Hey,

I just compared the Ghost to the Upsilon Shuttle and I think the will have very similiar costs for the lowest pilot. Their upgrad bars are relativly compareable (both have 2 crew and 1 sensorslot, the shuttle has 2 tech slots but the ghost has 2x torpedo and turreet slot). I think Kylo will be the only pilot with an elite slot.

If the lowest Upsilon costs 30 points... do you think a K-Turn Maneuver will be possible on the dial? Other than the ghost the shuttle will have NO possibility to shot after the enemy is behind you (since no turret slot). Or does the empire get another ship like the Lambda Shuttle? Not that its bad - I just would prefer a ship that could trade some more shots. :)

Well at 6/6 it's going to be a lot closer to the yv666 imo. With two techs and a system you're giong to be able to mod it really nicely. It throws 4 dice. It has Kylo crew's outrageous new ability in with it. I am really looking forward to this beauty landing. I'll be trying it out with Backdraft and Vader straight out the gates for that crit-through-shields pain...

I'm hoping that it's base point cost will be far under 30 points.

29 is the lowest cost I can imagine!

30 sounds about right to me. Anything less and its dial would have to be lambdaesque...

I'd guess at 30.

I'm looking forward to running RAC/Ren.

It's gonna be mean.

Come on, Empire won't get a fanboy expansion like the Ghost... systems, turrets, a horde of crew etc (buthurt rant over).

For large ships there are usually 2 point differences between each pilot. (For example Decimator, YTs, Jumpmaster)

So for the upsilon shuttle:

PS6 34

PS4 32

PS3 30

PS2 28

For 30 points if you add palpatine, it's already 38 points. You can't put two aces in your squad for 62 points. :(

Or is there a 27 point ace that I'm missing?

Inquisitor Omega Leader (SD), Inquisitor Quickdraw, Soontir OL (no SD), etc. There are loads of options and they usually benefit hugely from the Co-ordinate action.

Omega Leader. Meaning you can run him, the Inquisitor and a Palpupsilon. But I am not sure if thats worth... Interesting thought, though!

Yes you can. Standard inquisitor and VI Vader are both 31 points. Standard fel and omega leader come to 62 points as well

VI Vader's not 31 points. He's 35; Vader should always have Engine Upgrade.

But yeah, there's plenty of options for those 62 points. Not least 4 Black Cracks...

White 2 Turn or not is the question. And K-Turn or not? What do you think?

Very much doubt it would have a K turn. It's gonna have a slow and lumbering dial.

If I had to guess I'd go Lambda dial with green 2 banks, maybe white 3 banks, and red 4 straight. Just maybe a white hard turn like the YV, but I kind of hope not. It can take Pattern Analyser, having a bunch of red on the dial isn't an issue.

I wouldn't expect a k-turn given that the ship is similar to the Shuttle and YV-666. Probably a set of white turns, personaly I would assume 3s, but maybe not for some differentiation from the 666.

No K turn for sure.

Soontir + OL is only 61 so 1 more point to spend. :)

The dial on the photo shows a green 2 bank:

Looking at all the existing large-ship dials ( https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/106743-handy-all-ships-in-one-maneuver-reference-card-ready-for-print/?hl=malmer#entry1092371 ), you realize for larges ships only the Decimator, the Agressor (Ig-2000), and the VCX-100 (Ghost), sports the two green bank maneuver.

The Decimator dial only makes sense for either a PWT or a ship capable of equipping a secondary turret. The Agressor is a fast agile arc-dodger, which clearly this "shuttle" is not, so that leaves us with the VCX-100. I am guessing we get a VCX-100 dial, possibly with the red 5 k-turn replaced by a red 3 k-turn (as I am sure the wings on this badboy makes it flip-around in space fast) or a red stop maneuver........
or 3-sloops...dont all the First Order ships have som kind of Sloop?

I ran a 31 point VI Vader for several months in various lists. Never had an issue not having EU.

Or even a 30pt vader - adaptability. I run it and I like it. More of a shoot-first jouster than an ace, but focus-evade really helps with that.

It's gonna have speed four S-Loops!

I just hope that PalpUps catches on.

I'm planning on calling it the Oopsie.
