PTL after a SLAM

By Green Doo, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Can I use ptl after slamming? I was thinking if I can slam + boost with Aggressor.

Yes. You cannot however PTL into a SLAM.

And if you have experimental interface and adrenaline rush on a Shadowcaster you can do a 5 forward, SLAM into a 5 k-turn and then drop a debris cloud right in from of a ship that hasn't activated yet (I think they escape if they do a 1 turn or 1 forward... does bombardier work with debris clouds?) in the first turn just by starting across from them. If you're Asajj with your mobile arc pointing backwards that means you've double-stressed the enemy, and all for the low price of a bunch of upgrades and not being able to shoot

No, Bombardier doesn't work with Debris Clouds.

Or, if you have an engine upgrade equipped, you can move, SLAM, boost and cover most of the board...

Throw in Advanced SLAM for a third action.

Great :D SLAM will really be getthehelloutofdodge-move when big ship is going to get stuck in hot spot. Or on the other hand, it will be great way to outmaneuver opponent.

I know this is not Squad List section, but question rose from this list:

Why can't you ptl into a slam? Doesn't burnout slam say "your action bar gains the slam icon"?

See the last line of the reference card. " A ship cannot perform SLAM as a free action ", so no PtL to SLAM.

I figured there must be something... Thanks!

It's always buried in the fine print . :)

I think if you slam the 5-k you're stressed so can't drop the cloud.

Happy to be proven wrong though.

Adrenaline Rush treats it as white until the end of the activation phase.

So you could do that.

You'd be double stressed and have an enemy right on your tail, but you could do it.

Ah ha, did not see the adrenaline rush.

Cheers!

Where does the second stress come from? I've got one from Experimental Interface, and none from the Adrenaline Rush'd 5K SLAM.

I assume he thought that "treat it as white until end of activation phase" meant you would get the stress retroactively, though the colour of the maneuver is only relevant while performing it.

The idea to 5 forward, 5k slam, EI or AS into Cargo onto someone, and then probably block them (or if you're super lucky, have them run past and you end up behind them...), it's pretty great. Maybe not competitive, but funny as hell :D

Think I had it in my head you get a stress off adrenaline rush, evidently not.

Lots of people put all their low pilot in a group during setup... You could stress more then one ship, this could be really fun against mini swarm :)

No, they're not bombs.
